Monthly Prince Music Nights Return to Motown - Part 2 [1st thread - luv4u] http://www.prince.org/msg/2/183090
On the heels of The Crawl's fifth anniversary party and 3121 release party at the newly-opened Buzz Bar in downtown Motown, the Detroit Crawl and Buzz Bar are joining forces again. Starting in June, LIKELY JUNE 9 or 10, Buzz Bar and The Detroit Crawl will host monthly "Another Beautiful Night" funk parties right in the heart of downtown Detroit. The monthly club events will happen every fourth Saturday of the month. So, please join The Crawl and Buzz Bar, located at 546 Larned near the Greektown district. Free entry and Prince funk all night long. If all goes to plan, mark down these additional dates for 2006 -- july 22, august 26, sept 23, oct 28, nov 25, dec 23. U never know when Prince will tour. Originally planned for Saturday, April 29, the owners of Buzz Bar have requested to push back the date into June, right around Prince's big anual day, while they install a kick-ass audio system. As soon as Adam and staff give the word, it will be "another beautiful night" in Motown. We are hearing the sound system will be installed by Memorial Day weekend, and Adam and the staff at Buzz all say that without a perfect sound system Prince's vast catalogue and associate artist vibes wouldn't sound right with a sub-par audio system. And while you are at it download the 2-sided Detroit Crawl 3121 laminate! Wear it at the upcoming "beautiful night with the crawl" in June as well as any upcoming official Prince events in Detroit. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

Hey motor babies ...
Peace and love and respect to the entire Buzz Bar crew, especially DJ Ben and Adam for a slamming and funky good time helping The Detroit Crawl officially celebrate Prince's big No. 48 in grand style. Adam and Ben, you have a great thing going at Buzz. As you said the location is spot on -- right in the heart of downtown motown. There is not much more downtown you can get with Buzz. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and when the soundman plugged in the extra sub-woofer, things got a lot louder, as promised. Adds a whole 'nother dimension to the aural experience of Prince. Thanks for keeping the place open for the extra half-hour. Ain't nobody stop the groove. We could have partied 'til the sun come up. Maybe next time . Hey, wasn't that Tamar on the big screen? Much loves goes out to the upstairs funk outfit -- Soul Clique. Sorry about mixing up your name, but I know it now! Very nice compliment to what was flowing downstairs. For more information about this funky RnB outfit from right here in the Motor City, check out the Metro Times artist profile. Speaking of artist profile, we hear that Rare Form is back in "rare form" and is getting ready to drop some new hot wax this summer. Looking forward to it Phil! It was so great seeing so many friends, both old faces and new faces - and some faces we have not seen for AGES (love ya Nesci!). This is where the party be and The Crawl is so glad you came out to enjoy the night. As Prince said, "it's good to be seen, if you know what I mean!" It was truly another beautiful night and DJ Ben, you laid down the right amount of old funk and new funk and rare funk to keep the party movin'! As the evening moved on, the funkiness got hotter. Everyone felt it, especially when Private Joy and Let's Work and DMSR and Anotherloverholeinyohead and Housequake started eminating out those speakers! I don't care how many times I have heard these tracks in my own system, it is always an added plus to hear them live in a club setting. We gotta do this again ... hmmm ... how does The Fouth weekend sound? Maybe a little Mavis Staples on July 3 at the Comerica Tastefest and then a little funky afterparty/housequake at Buzz Bar? Keep you posted, for sure. Chitown, were u at? MPLS were u at? Adonis and Antone and Chenoa, where u at? Oh, and last thing, for all you ladies out there wondering where Rose got her funky 2004 Rolling Stone Prince cover trendy handbag? Rose says there is an eBay seller who makes them. We gotta find this eBay link! Peace and chickengrease ... | |
