does this all mean you're considering moving in with your beau??? Oh, and I changed my mind. 24 hours of believing that I was moving to the suburbs caused so much anxiety that I had to back out of it. A commuter relationship is better than LETTING MY SOUL DIE. I may still just crash at the hotel with y'all, though. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

I've stayed at the Silver Cloud -- Broadway, and I'd recommend it. The hotel can't be more than a few years old, so the rooms and common areas are in good shape, and the overall atmosphere is quite pleasant. In terms of amenities, it's a notch above a 2.5-star hotel (e.g., Courtyard by Marriott), but not quite a 3-star full-service hotel. However, I doubt most invaders will be using their hotel rooms for much more than sleeping. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

SeattleInvasion said: I could dig up lots more downtown options for anybody who is interested, and actually, Matt is a bargain-travel guru; I'd highly suggest orgnoting him if you want help finding the best deals.
Thanks. The bad news is that the cost of travel is definitely on the rise. The incredible deals that I was getting circa 2002-04 started disappearing last year, and that trend has definitely continued into 2006. I'm pretty sure that my days of flying in First Class for $220 and getting 4-star hotel rooms for $50 are over, at least for now. The good news is that you can still travel relatively inexpensively. I just put together a two-week summer vacation for myself, and I think I did pretty well. Flexibility definitely helps; e.g., although my first-choice destination airport was either Portland (Maine), or Boston, I was able to save a few hundred dollars by going just a little bit out of my way and flying into Manchester, New Hampshire, instead. Now, flexibility is going to be somewhat limited on this end, as Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), a/k/a "Sea-Tac," is pretty much your only choice when it comes to destination airports, and the Invasion dates have been set. But if you have a choice of departure airports, are willing to take a red-eye flight, etc., look into all of your options. As Melissa said, feel free to orgNote me if you're seeking travel assistance. I'm not a travel professional and have no credentials in that area, but I've gotten pretty good at finding the best deals... it's almost like a game (some might say an obsession ), and I sometimes help friends, family, colleagues, etc., with their travel plans. What's up with these sticky threads not showing up with the normal 10-day thread view? Shouldn't that be part of the point of being sticky? oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

I don't know of any Prince-related events at the moment. I have been playing phone tag with Landmark Theaters about getting a theater for a Prince movie night. From what I've gathered so far, I think the higher weekend rates are gonna be out of reach. But, I'm considering setting up some sort of projection dealie at Golden Gardens. We'll see. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

as folks may have noticed by looking at the list...I will no longer be attending the invasion. We had a major car trauma recently. My BF's car blew-up and then my car went crazy. All within a few hours of each other. This resulted in the purchase of a new car for the BF and the beginning of a series of repairs on my car. This also resulted in the canceling of all travel plans for the rest of the year. times like these make me wish (for a second) that I'd never left corporate america to be a social worker. Life was a lot more fun when I earned real money. anywho. what can you do? I'll just be jealous and DEMAND that y'all take and post a TON o pics.
