ITINERARY

Apart from the party on Saturday night, this is not exhaustive or final - input was asked for in many posts and not given, so if you dont like whats planned - say so!! Its up to you to enjoy yourselves, democracy etc...

FRIDAY
Remains kinda up in the air at the moment, until I get confirmation some invaders will be here! If there will be we will do some sightseeing in the daytime, go back to our lodgings, meet up for dinner and go on a bit of a pub crawl, around some quintessential Edinburgh type places. And possibly a Ghost tour too, lots of fun! This post will be updated a plenty!

SATURDAY DAYTIME

For those who are here at that point, we will meet at 10.30am at Hunter Square, in between the Tron bar, Starbucks, and the Church. For those that arent going to be there then and want to join our little tour group, let me or someone else know so we can get in touch with you and meet you later!

Then we will go sightseeing!!
We can walk around the Old Town, which is rich with history and all things Scottish (Greyfriars Bobby, dontcha know)




We can go up to the Castle


We can go for a wander in Princes Street Gardens and maybe go up the Scott Monument


And plenty more of that until late afternoon I imagine! We will also stop for a light lunch somewhere

SATURDAY NIGHT

A table is booked in a lovely Italian restaurant called Bar Napoli, at 75 Hanover Street for 6pm. (its the basement, under Grand Cru)Please post or orgnote me or Bal names so we can let them know how many to expect

Then we will head to The World Bar as previously planned for 7/7.30, as everyone else whos not with us will too! And the party shall begin!

We will be there until around 8.30/9, when we will head around the corner to Madogs on George Street, which is where we are going to party the night away to Prince music! Of all things Its open til 3, so it should be a cracking night!!

SUNDAY
Sunday’s activities will depend on how much fun is had on Saturday night Just kidding, I think the best option is to meet somewhere for some lunch and do some more sights. We’ll all be together on Saturday evening so we can discuss it then.

Trains go into Waverley station which is totally central and you shouldn’t have a problem finding your way to where you want to be from there, just jump in a taxi.

Edinburgh airport is about half an hours drive outside of the city and the best way to get into town is to walk straight out the front door, straight ahead to the bus stops and look for the light blue double-deckers which say Edinburgh-airport shuttle (or something like that?) on them. Just jump on and ask for a return ticket, which costs £5 and is open, you can use it again. These drop you right next to Waverley Station funnily enough, and you are immediately surrounded by tour guides, maps and taxis, so you’ll be ok!!


HOTELS
The best recommendation I can give you now is

Theres loads of hotels on there to suit every price range and tastE, including the one I had mentioned previously. Some of them are pretty far away but some are smack bang in the centre of town, so if you dont know what youre doing I suggest you orgnote me or one of the other locals before booking!


And for those of you that want to keep your money for the important things in life, and have no qualms about staying in a (clean, safe and presentable!) hostel, this website should be looked at

Theyre all cheap but certainly not nasty, and some have private rooms that still beat the hotels for price. City centre tourist hostel, Cowgate tourist hostel, city centre guest hostel, Edinburgh backpackers hostel and caledonian backpackers are all right in the centre of town.

I am going to be in Edinburgh for around lunch time on friday.
I was going to drive up but i hate driving in Edinburgh so i am going to be coming up on the train.

It is not clear on where i am going to be staying but i do have reletives in Edinburgh so if push comes to shove im sure i can stay with them.

btw if anyone else is up for it i would love to go on the ghost tour on the friday night.

We have a slight change in plan! The party will not take place at The World.
Sorry about this last minute change, but I got told the problem yesterday and there is no way around it.
However, good news - I have a better venue.

We will meet, as previously planned, at The World for 7/7.30pm on Saturday evening.
At 8.30/9pm the party will then move to Madogs on George Street, which is about 30 seconds walk away from The World.
The owners have instructed their DJ to play Prince music, and the place will be open until 3am.
