To celebrate the upcoming tour dates in Seattle, Portland and Bend we'll be presenting a special SF preview of the show on March 9th. Due to popular demand we will be incorporating more recent music from Prince and the NPG. So in addition to the usual '79 - '89 era music that we play from Prince we'll also be playing music from such albums as Diamonds and Pearls, Emancipation, Chaos and Disorder, The Gold Experience, The Vault, New Power Soul and Musicology. Prince and associated artists go toe-to-toe on the dance floor against Michael and the Jackson family during this ultimate dance party! The face-off always promises to be a dance marathon - "Musicology" takes a swing at "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)," only to be pounded by "Wanna Be Starting Somethin," which had better watch it's back when "Kiss" comes around.

This event was conceived four years by Bomb Hip-Hop who have successfully produced many of these parties in San Francisco and even one in Bend (Oregon) last year. "As a concept for a DJ battle, Prince vs. Michael is brilliant," writes SF Weekly's Hiya Swanhuyser. Deejays Dave Paul and Jeff Harris mix album cuts, remixes, rare tracks and classics from their extensive record collections to battle it out on the turntables. Featuring music from Prince, Michael, The Time, The Jackson 5, Sheila E., Janet Jackson, Vanity 6 and many more. Who will win, The Purple One or the King of Pop? Who cares... this is the perfect night out to lounge with your friends, make some new friends, get your drink on and dance your @ss off.

It was fun seeing everyone at the Tamar featuring Prince show in SF. They even did covers of "Don't Stop til You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson and "What Have You Done For Me Lately" by Janet.

It should be a really fun party. P Controle 6 are gonna come out and do their Apollonia/Vanity 6 lip synch performance and 4AM is gonna do a cover of a Prince song. Which song... don't know yet. It'll be a surprise! The party will start off nice and early at 9pm so we can squeeze in all the jams and rock it all night long.
