Prince and associated artists go toe-to-toe on the dance floor against Michael and the Jackson family - this is the ultimate dance party! This face-off promises to be a dance marathon - "Musicology" takes a swing at "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)," only to be pounded by "Wanna Be Starting Somethin," which had better watch it's back when "Kiss" comes around.

This event was conceived four years by Bomb Hip-Hop who have successfully produced many of these parties in San Francisco and even one in Bend (Oregon). "As a concept for a DJ battle, Prince vs. Michael is brilliant," writes SF Weekly's Hiya Swanhuyser. DJ Dave Paul mixes album cuts, remixes, rare tracks and classics from his extensive record collection; featuring music from Prince, Michael, The Time, The Jackson 5, Sheila E., Janet Jackson, Vanity 6 and many more. Over the last 15 years Bomb Hip-Hop's influence and contribution to the promotion of the four elements of hip-hop (dj, mc, breaking, graffiti) is undeniable. Bomb has evolved since it's humble beginnings in 1991 as a hip-hop publication to "one of the fifteen independent labels that matter" according to Rolling Stone. Bomb’s Return of the DJ series was ranked by Spin Magazine as #25 in their “The 90 Greatest Albums of the 90’s”. Having been credited with the revival of the D.J. as an artist in their own right for the Return of the DJ series, featured in the movie Scratch playing on the Sundance channel and available on DVD, the label is also known for spotlighting Hip Hop from around the world.

So in addition to my extensive record collection I'll also be playing & mixing tracks from The Gold Experience, Diamonds and Pearls, The Vault, Chaos and Disorder and New Power Soul. If you have some favorite jams from those albums list them here so I know. Some of my favorites are : Mad Sex, Dinner With Delores, Dig U Better Dead, The Rest of My Life, Sarah and 319.
