I think most people like in most situations like to complain about a bad service and often take a great service for granted!! I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed ever single party Ive been to at Long Lane (as do the ones who can be assed to write up in forums and thank everyone afterwards!!), the whole atmosphere is fantasitic, its a very well organised, event and the people who attend are all unique individuals who love Prince, what more could a FAN ASK FOR?, My first party I went alone, and I was made very welcome, and my second I introduced 6 people to the event and they're hooked.lol.

We do appreciate these events, and I'd like to THANK YOU AND LE FREAK AND OF COURSE ALL AT THE DAWN EXPERIENCE tremendously for putting in the hard work, and organising such an amazing event, Long may it continue, jeez man I wanna be going there when Im 70 ..lol...Ok listen also, if u need any help and I can possibly do it, just drop me an org.

It is very disappointing when people pull out after having promised to be there. I think there are several reasons for this:

1. Genuine conflicts. Things just come up on the same date that takes priority.

2. Human nature. Promising to do something, then leaving it until it is too late to sort out accomodation and travel.

3. Skint. Realising near the time that you're not going to have the money to afford to go, or balancing how much you think you are going to enjoy it against how much it will cost.

4. Lazyiness. Initially saying yes, but then realising it is going to be a lot of hassle and in the end not bothering.

5. Fear. Either worrying about going alone, or that the friends you were planning on taking won't enjoy it, or being worried about meeting Orgers that you've wound up in the past and losing your anonymity, or worried that the turn-out will be low and you'll be standing on the dancefloor alone, worried that it will be full of wierdos, or just plain reluctant to put your Prince fandom out there and be seen like some sad sci-fi fan going to a convention.

I think all of these reasons play a part. Most of them are out of the organisers control - the most you can do is ask people to not say they are coming if they are not completely committed, so that you can accurately gauge numbers. None of this, 'oh yeah, gonna be bringing 10 mates along' just so that you sound popular.

If the Prince parties disappear, well it will be a shame for those of us that attend, but perfectly understandable if numbers are dwindling and you are losing money and feeling under-appreciated. But really, you don't get people on-board by berrating and blaming them. You need to get people excited about the events.

The Prince parties I've been to have been excellent. Good music (obviously) an interesting and wide-ranging mix of people from young to old, mostly normal, a very friendly atmosphere, and you can get talking about Prince to almost anyone as a way into a conversation and make lots of new friends to swap music and stories with.

For anyone reading this thinking of going, you should, it is a lot of fun and well worth the effort and expense.

I can appreciate just how hard everyone works towards arranging events like this.

Just to arrange a Manchester meet-up (wich is nothing like the London parties) is a nightmare. People dropping out, dissapearing throughout the night and just a lack appreciation. and that is when we might get 15-20people attending.

The London party is massive and especially this year being a weekender. I hope they carry on forever. It is much appreciated by myself and everyone I know who has ever attended these parties.

Keep up the excellent work and we'll keep attending.

We Promise!!!!!

I am 31 and never been on a plane or to London but Ive decided to bite the bullet and go this year. It has been great meeting other Prince fans at the Edinburgh parties and a lot of effort was put into organising the party and the great music so I can see why its disappointing and annoying when people back out at the last minute. Dont know what i would do without those parties...probably go back to singing with my hairbrush in my livingroom on my own...very sad. So please guys try and make the London one in October the best yet so we can continue sharing the beautiful Prince experience.

I am defo coming and still trying to get as many frien ds as possible to come along for the ride!

It is great that these nights happen as
1. You DO get to renact your favorite Prince moves to an appreciative audience
2. You DO get to hear classic choons that you don't normally get to experience in a London club
3. You DO get to hear lots of remixes and extended 30 minute megahotdopeplastic versions
4. You DO get to hear songs you never heard before (well, you might not, but I did!)
5. You DO get the chance to rant like a drunkard about how annoying Tony M is, with the person actually knowing what the hell you are talking about.
6. You DO get to meet new and very friendly people
7. You DO want to come back to every other party that happens and feel depressed for a year if you don't

You don't get any Crazy Frog music

1st a big THANK U 2 Everyone at The Dawn & Unique, DJ Le Freak, Freedom, London, Gav, Madhouse Music etc....

U all do a wonderful job, every year that I ve been I ve had fun, even when i was poorly last year with swollen glands, I still had a great time.

The amount of time and effort that u put into these parties is under valued by the price you charge (u are excellent value).

Year by Year the event grows and improves but only with the help of the fans will it continue to be a success and indeed exsist.

The people who never went will be the 1st to moan about how there is never any parties no more, or how Prince stuff only happens in the USA.

If u cant go atleast spread the word or show ur support, let people know u are there and possibly interested in the next (if there is one) event. These events are formed closely on what people write about the previous events, if u have an idea or something u think u could provide then say so.

I definately want to go. Im just goin to leave it to the last minute and see what happens. I have other things to do that take up my time so its a case of juggling things around.

I love the meet-ups and appreciate the organisation involved.

I just want to say to all those in two minds about coming to this party that you will seriously regret it if you don't.

If you're worried about bring a partner or a friend who isn't into Prince - don't. My boyfriend had a fantastic time last year and he's coming again this time.

If you're worried about coming by yourself - don't. Everyone is so friendly - just come and chat - at least you have a love of Prince music in common!

It will be a great weekend, promise.

i can only agree with this .. last year i brought two friends to the party who are not into prince, and even though i didn't have time for them as i was playing, they were having a great time ..

and you always have the choice .. unique for the rare stuff and myself for the well known dance till you drop stuff .. there's something for everybody!
