Prince and associated artists go toe-to-toe on the dance floor against Michael and the Jackson family. This face-off promises to be a dance marathon - "Musicology" takes a swing at "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)," only to be pounded by "Wanna Be Starting Somethin," which had better watch it's back when "Kiss" comes around. "As a concept for a DJ battle, Prince vs. Michael is brilliant," writes SF Weekly's Hiya Swanhuyser. DJ's Jeff Harris and Dave Paul mix album cuts, remixes, rare tracks and classics from their extensive record collections to battle it out on the turntables. This dance party features music from Prince, Michael, The Time, The Jackson 5, Sheila E., Janet Jackson, Vanity 6 and many more. Who will win, The Purple One or the King of Pop? That's right ya'll, our 8th Prince vs. Michael party in San Francisco. We've come a long way since the first party in November of '02. This event on June 30th will be at a new location - the Cherry Bar at 917 Folsom @ 5th street. That's right, we finally found a venue where they will let us keep the door cover down to $5 all night long and a start time of 8pm. This is what we've always wanted to do and we're stoked that we have found a venue that will let us keep the price down and start early so we can play all the music that we need to. The Cherry Bar even hooked us up with some advance promo spots on 98.1fm so keep your ears open for that if you listen to the radio. Round 8 is gonna be the shiznit! Hope to see everyone there...
