theres a few folk in the glasgow area coming, but i don't think many of them drive, and if they do they will b leaving the car behind cuz parking is a nightmare, plus they will b drinking

the best option 2 get from glasgow airport 2 edinburgh is 2 get the airport bus from glasgow airport 2 glasgow queen street bus station, which is about 30-45 mins depending on traffice and the time of day, then swap buses at the bus station and get the edinburgh bus which will take about an hour and 15 mins, maybe quicker if at nite, thats about 2 hours but it can b about 90 mins normally. thats normally what i do if i'm getting a plane in glasgow 2 the states. it's quicker by train by about 20 mins, but then u got the hassle of going from the bus station round 2 the train station, or getting a taxi etc. the bus system is pretty good and reasonably cheap. u can get a return ticket all the way from glasgow airport 2 edinburgh city centre (st. andrews square), then from there u can either get a bus (an 11 takes u 2 pilrig street, or a few of them take u close 2 macdonald road), or get a taxi that will cost u £4/5 and take u 2 the door. i would suggest the taxi being in a new town on ure own

Thanks dear hug This'll be a nightmare rolleyes but I'll sort it out and book, like you say I can always cancel later if I need to. I don't wanna though. sigh disbelief

if ure coming on thursday nite, i suggest booking a place, like 1 of the 2 places i mentioned b4, and booking it from thursday 2 whenever u leave, so then u know u got somewhere safe and clean 2 stay, so u don't need 2 worry about accomodation, then u just need 2 organise ure flights, then from there u just need 2 organise getting from the airport 2 ure hotel. by car glasgow airport is maybe 90 mins away from edinburgh, but prolly pricey by taxi, whereas return bus is about £15 or less

u should c if u can fly in2 edinburgh instead, then u can either get the airport bus which will take u in2 town 4 about £8 return, or get a taxi right 2 the hotel 4 about £15 if its not during 8-6ish, which is the option i would suggest by far. that's what i do when i fly 2 and from edinburgh airport, the few xtra pounds r well worth it

at least u have the option of flying either in2 edinburgh or glasgow. sometimes it's cheaper 2 fly in2 glasgow, but then if its so much hassle or xtra cost 2 do so, sometimes it's worth paying a little bit more 2 fly direct in2 edinburgh

try the typical google associated flights. KLM is usually pretty cheap via travel agents. it's only about 1 hour flight from europe 2 scotland

I have 5 twin rooms being held at The Roxburghe Hotel for £80 each, which includes breakfast. That's £40 per person. Whoever needs a room, please could you let me know by the end of the week. With it being a bank holiday weekend, these rooms will be in demand and cannot be held for long. I'll post the details of the hotel at the end of the week. You will have to book your own rooms using a credit or debit card.
This is a 4 star hotel, and only a couple of minutes walk from the venue. Here's the link to their website http://www.theroxburghe.com/?ac=ggppc1
At the end of the week the rooms will be gone.

why not come on your own.
You'll have made a whole bunch of new friends by the end of the night, and its only an hour on the plane.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

thats an xcellent deal, as it's a pretty good hotel, and even camile could walk from the hotel 2 the venue as it's just around the corner, and around the other corner u're on prince's street and can c the castle

they also have an xcellent gym there, and they used 2 hold record fairs there

i think camile in particular should book this hotel as it'll b right up her street. it's also within walking distance from the bus station, waverley station or havery nicks (as long as u haven't brought 2 much luggage), so whilst u might pay another £30 4 the room as opposed 2 a bnb, u will save a few quid in taxi's, plus save any hassle, so i strongly recommend ppl snap up these rooms. if ure sharing a room, it works out a particularly good offer

another thing, if all these rooms get taken, it might make them happy and allow us discounted rates in the future, either cheaper or more rooms

i'll take my bargain hat back off now!

Lisa, is there anybody else in London coming up for the party? Perhaps you could tag along with them? Or maybe even come on your own. It would be a shame to miss it as this is gearing up to be a good night.

xactly, there will b plenty of ppl coming on thier own, and there will b plenty orgers u will know, such as redfeathers, teacher, number23, etc

as long as u can put up with the travelling alone, u should definatley come. its about 4.5 hours in the train from london, just pack ure walkman with prince, buy a load of copies of the latest magazines, get some sweeties 4 the train and by the time u know it u will b in edinburgh, surrounded by big blokes in kilts. and muirdo

Definitely 3 rooms left.
The block booking will be on the hotel's system by Wednesday under my name.
DO NOT book before Wednesday as you will not get the same rate.
The first 5 will get the details of the person to speak to, sent to them via orgnote. If the demand is greater, I'll see what I can do, but I can't guarantee the room will be at £80.

ive orgnoted 2 led redfeathers know cuz she is coming up from london, and this would b right up her street

also, teacher will prolly book her plane etc 2day from sweden, and i think she is flying in on thursday nite and leaving monday or tuesday. i dunno if when she books her flight u can c if u can work out something 4 her on a seperate basis. she might b able 2 share with red on the party nite, but she will need somewhere the other nites, altho she might b cheaper with a bnb if staying so long

at the moment she reckons she will arrive late in2 glasgow on thursday nite so might have 2 stay there on thursday

Yeah, right, an hour getting to the airport to book in an hour before flying, an hour's journey followed by an hour getting your luggage back and out of the airport into the city...

You know, it actually takes longer to cross the channel to France now than it did a hundred years ago.

thats y i always go 2 london on the plane, i just turn up at waverley station when i feel like it, its only 10/15mins from my house in the bus, which arrives every 5/10 mins, so a lot less stress and hassle, with no worries about missing ure flight, or being treated like a criminal when going thru security

funny thing is, now u can fly 2 and from london from edinburgh cheaper than the train costs. another thing, the folks from france and places like that spent a shorter time traveling 2 london by train than it did me 2 go 2 london from edinburgh

anyways, i hope that don't put u off, but check out the train and just play cds and get loads of mags and newspapers 2 flick thru, or bring a laptop

i can either meet u at the station or arrange this. likewise any1 else

if u have a look at the small map on www.princeparty.tk u can c the length of prince's street. the train station and bus station is at 1 end, the venue in the middle and the hotel at the other end (on the corner of charlotte square and george street). princes street, george street and queen street r main streets tho not that long, there r lots of little streets like rose street, and little lanes that might make the map look like it covers a bigger area

i will probably b uptown on the saturday, probably with some other prince fans, so it would only take 5/10 mins 2 get 2 either station by foot, or 20 mins max from my house. i'll probably b in harvey nicks bar drinking cocktails with camile, and thats just across from the train station, or almost literally above the bus station in st andrews square which u can c on the map

if u let me know when u r coming i can arrange this and show u where the hotel and venue is

what us locals call edinburgh city centre is a square of about 5 miles, when we mean city centre we usually mean the literal 1 mile square that covers princes street and edinburgh castle, which has most of the clubs in town, plus 100s of bars and shops, so its easy 2 get around by foot. in fact easier than by car or taxi. we have an xcellent bus service 2, but u won't need 2 use it really

just orgnote bal if u want the room and he will take care of it

I've emailed flyers to the venue to help with promotion, and a link to the website. The whole venue looks as if it will be ours for the evening.

DJ equipment is now available, so unique can do his usual party piece.
DVDs can also be played, and there are 2 screens in the venue.
More Prince karoake tunes have been found for all you budding singers.

As far as hotel rooms are concerned, can you please orgnote me to confirm that you want one of these rooms. I doubt if I will be able to get any more at that price, so please hurry.
