Review iN ANewPowerDetroit -Instant Access 2 The Xperience A Success! Purple Madness iN ANewPowerDetroit (Ferndale).
February 18th 2005 -What a night!!! Doors opened at 9pm to the sounds of Prince and todays hottest alternative dance trax. (2) DJ's on the set fusing purple funk and alternative dance music as the club filled up by midnight...Prince has never sounded this revolutionary from one song to the next "Interactive (underground mix)... Endorphinmachine... Loose...Pheromone.... New World/Human Body...and Rave in2 the joy fantastic (house mix)...were just a taste of what the night had in store. At Midnight...Causing A Scene Production featuring Tone' & Michiee Devale took center stage with a blast from the past! The stage was set in the Pre -1999 (1982) era...with Vanity 6 and a dozen purple hippies...grinding to the electronic sounds of "Controversy & Nasty Girls". There were (3) sections of performances which granted the huge crowd... instant access to the Erotic City xperience. More prince funk pimped its way through the surround sounds system at Club Q as a huge projected image of his royal badness displayed via the clubs movie screen on the many era's of his dynasty; from the video "Kiss...Thieves in the tempo... Question of you... Anotherloverholenyohead... Girls & Boys... Mountains... Rave unto the year 2000... and more. "The energy was amazing"...said one newbie to the prince music night xperience. After...all the obscure and rare purple hits flowed one by one, the night ended with a finale which would even demand that you hold onto your wigs... Tone' and Michiee Devale with Causing A Scene Production would perform a medley of Prince Classics just as you witnessed it for the first time back in 1985 Live from Syracruse... with tons of Multi-colored lights and confetti as "I would die 4u/ Baby I'm a star & Let's go crazy" reminded us of the old days of wild. What a night it was...Thank you to all the newbies of NewPowerDetroit who got intouch with their inner purple selves and made the 1st Prince Music Night of 2005, a great welcome back.
