Just wondering if anyone from Detroit and the surounding areas meet up? What about cover bands? Bars?

I know about Mephesto's, but that has apparently ended. Not too upset about that. It wasn't in a very safe neighborhood, and I swear that the main level was reserved for "Raves". When I think of Prince, I think class, style, and love. I am looking for a gathering that projects just that.

Yeah, things have been quiet on the Detroit front lately. The two groups there are The Detroit Crawl (http://www.thedetroitcrawl.org) and NewPowerDetroit (http://www.newpowerdetroit.com). Both have many Prince obsessed nice folks. The night at Mephisto's seems to have been postponed, but it wasn't a dangerous place or club over there in Hamtramck. The songs spun were awesome there! (thanx to DJ Tor're Sanz!)

The Detroit Crawl organizes all kinds of events. Their Housequake Houseparties are lots of fun.

Thanks for the info. As far as Mephesto's not being dangerous...I guess if you were a guy(which I am assuming) it would seem safe. But for two girls from the burbs, it's not a place you want to go alone, and considering the opinions of most males, including our b-friends, on Prince, we don't get many offers for dates. I was informed that they would be loooking for a new venue, but believe alternative motives are at hand.

DJ Tor're Sanz...good DJ, would love to get a mix of his. Just wish he was the only one attempting the task.

I know this reply may come off as negative, but my frustrations have gotten the best of me.

I did check out your link to pruplelectricity.com and have become insanely jealous. The pictures show a party more along the lines of what my friends and I are looking for. Not so dark and morbid, but upbeat, classy and modern. I intend on taking a trip to Toronto for shopping sometime after the new year. I would love to attend a purplelectricity party while I am there. I would appreciate if you could keep me posted.

Help Me Here!!!- Its definitely a challenge at times.

Also Mephisto's never hosted a rave, the club's main level catered to techno, dance, house, electronica and goth on different nights, and its all during regular hours...doors closed at 2am, the security was very tight and no reported accidents such as our guest(s) being robbed or stabbed or even drug trafficing, never once have I had anyone break into my car either.

Most of our guest(s) were female b/t 18-40, more women than men.
So I'm not sure where all this is coming from!
