actualy now that i think about it maybe not, a mountain hike wouldn't help a tequila hangover at all! but the lakes are really lovely and accomodation can be cheap i know lots of local hotel and b&b owners i could negotiate a reduced rate if most folk stayed at the same place. You doing a hike in those heals? I think not! [Edited 10/18/04 23:36pm] http://www.myspace.com/savage1999uk

if its not going 2 b london, then i agree manchester is the next best place, as its central, a main city, easy 2 get 2 from anywhere in the uk, easy enuff 2 get 2 from europe, has a main train and bus route and even airport, plus plenty of hotels and other things 2 do. plus it would probably persuade a lot more scots 2 come down

Would definitely be up for this and will watch this space....
Birmingham would be good... reasons.... 1) Centrally Located 2) Access to all major UK motorways 3) Centre of the rail network 4) International Airport (yeah, I know.... nothing unique about that...) 5) It's where I live If not Birmingham... Manchester! it's also central, taking our friends north of the border into account! Damn, I should try and help with the Olympic bid!

Manchester seems 2 be a popular vote What do u think? i think manchester is the ideal alternative 2 london, its slap bang in the middle of the country, so its easy enuff 4 every1 2 get 2 also, i've dj'ed at 1 or 2 prince nites in manchester, so i know it can work. prince wouldn'tve played manchester if it wasn't a popular location. there r plenty of venues that can b picked from and plenty of other things 2 do if folks want 2 xtend thier stay and do other stuff there.

Much as I love the Lakes, I think we need a big city so that people can easily get there...we don't want to make it difficult for those who travel from abroad do we?
Manchester and Birmingham are both cool and easy to get to by various modes of transport, and of course London, although it can be a bit of a trek for us northerners! My vote is for a "Crystal Ball"!!! We can all get glammed up and put on our bestest posh frocks! (Altho not the boys of course ) [Edited 10/29/04 5:19am]
