EvilWhiteMale said: Anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant?
So my plans this weekend fell through...but I guess karaoke is out since nobody expressed an interest? Nobody else seems to be making suggestions. EWM-what kind of restaurant are you thinking? SOmewhere with a bar to chill after or more fancy? CHeap? Laid back? Village area? I could name some good ones in any type of category. If y'all like cheap sushi and benihana-hibachi-stir-fry type-I know of a cheap "get together" place on 9th st. It's a lot of fun and the food is great. Yeah, something afordable where a bunch of us can share a big table and chit chat while we eat. Then afterwards we can hit a bar or something like the Fat Black Pussycat or something. Not to rain on y'all's parade, but I don't like seafood. Perhaps we can consider an alternative to the place we can meet up in. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

it's not just seafood-there's stir-fry, some hibachi, you stir fry your own meat, chicken, veggies (only by choice but it's FUN)-there's also stuff like tempura (chicken fingers) ....there's something for everyone...granted it's a japenese place-but it's GREAT for get togehters (and it's cheap!). I've taken people there a bunch of times and they always end up liking it. But i understand if you aren't down with it. There are a million restaurants. yeah-i had a group of 9 people there once-only thing was it was a longer wait. they don't take reservations. but there are a bunch of bars around that you can go to and the place will call your cell phone when your table is ready. It's called "yakiniku" on E. 9th st.- not sure what area of the city you are in but if you are in the area you should check it out. Let the rain come down...17 days....

I'll be coming down from the Bronx, so it really doesn't matter. It doesn't matter to me where we eat as long as the place can hold all of us and is affordable. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

ok well maybe we should just play it safe with a place that does take reservations for big parties...how about HEARTLAND BREWERY in Union Square? It's got food that everyone will like (it's a classier "Friday's" type place) - I can't join y'all for the late night festivities but i'll meet for drinks and some dinner. This may sound cheesy but it is worth a shot to mention -
What about Japas 38 - on 38th street close to 5th ave - it is a Japanese food place that has karaoke while you eat - and we can eat and sing Prince and Associates songs - in fact, I think you can reserve a room and for about 35-40 bucks per person they serve you a prefix of sushi, shumai, etc. Or we can get a bunch of tables and eat and sing and order individually???? and if the whole Karaoke thing with just booze interests people - a good place would be Planet Rose downtown. Or there is El Cantinero on 13th street - cheap mexican food that is good and a decent sized bar space to gather upstairs. Or 13 - which is actually on 13th and University - it is a bar - no food, but happy hours on fridays are buy a drink and get one free until 8:00 pm. Just thoughts and suggestions.

Change in plans!
We're gonna try to get this thing crackin next week instead. It seems like the planning got rushed and it's kind of a tough weekend for some folks. So we're gonna reschedule. Keep next Friday open if you wanna show. [Edited 10/28/04 14:50pm] "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "
