Hollywood Walk of Fame

I don't believe this topic has come up yet here, but it has been a hot issue for some in the past....it is in regards to Prince gettin' his star on the walk of fame.

It's a shame to me, that everyone under the sun these days has their star and I was just wondering what everyone thought....?

Living in LA, it seems like most of the recent stars are always tied into something being promoted. On a rare occasion they do give a star to a star with nothing to promote.

BUT, I think that there is an office or something where you can send in a petition. I think.

I'd join the effort!

I agree - The Simpsons have a damn star on Hollywood Blvd (not to take anything away from them) BUT they're not even REAL!!! confused
idea If anyone can find out about the petition, I would definitely sign it exclaim

butterfly it is the symbol of total transformation. Butterfly represents a need for change and greater freedom, and at the same time it represents courage: one requires courage to carry out the changes

I seem to recall this being discussed a few years ago. I beleive the problem was, in addition to getting a petition signed, that it cost like $3000 and he HAD to be there. I think the problem was guaranteeing the money and him being there. We could contact Susan Blond about it, maybe she can get him there, you never know.

But I agree that it's also usually tied to a big promotion. Prince would have do be doing something really big for them to give him a star.

If I recall, Prince was known as the symbol and he said he would only accept if they put the symbol on the street and they said that "Prince" is what they wanna put on the star and "prince" said "phuck u"

I agree BIG time!! It really upsets me that he does not have a star on the Walk of Fame! I discussed that with my husband and neither one of us can understand! There should have been a ceremony for him way back in the 80's! They gave one to Little Richard and he gets credit for nothing!! confused

i remember hearing something about this on one of the entertainment shows. the organiztion who votes on who gets a star, keep saying he is too "weird". i'm sure if we get everyone here to sign a petition and basiclly force them to give him one, i'm sure he would show up. it doesn't make sense that someone with as much talent as him not to have a star on the walk of fame.
