NewPowerDetroit -You Hear it First: "Introducing..."
Local Music Scene: Ladies and Gentleman, NewPowerDetroit's Very Own Tor'Juan is currently working on an album...there will be a "3" song Introductory EP released near years end! "Music has always been a major inspiration in my life since I could remember" says the local dj (From PRINCE Music Night at Mephisto's, Every First Friday in Hamtramck). "I've auditioned for American Idol, sang at countless talent shows and even song for the dead (Laughs), but what would be the ultimate is to finally record my first record, everyone from Prince, Mark Anthony, Luther Vandross, George Micheal, & the late Celia Cruz have Inspired me to do what I have only dreamed of doing for the longest, and now I have the opportunity to do it, so I'm gonna give it my all and hope for the best to come out of it". Tor'Juan, A Detroit Native and Product of a multi-racial relationship, his mother whose roots breed from a native american, african & french bloodline and father whose cuban & dominican, was born 26 years ago, says...he never really had a stable relationship with his father, "All I knew was my dad was in and out of my life from the time I was born until I was a teenager, and then he disappeared, thou...I knew I was part hispanic and I did have a connection with my grandparents, but my grandma (fathers side) passed away and eventually my grandpa moved back to Santo Domingo". When asked what Inspires his music he replys "Life, God, everyday that I'm blessed to experience, thats what inspires me". What style of music are you pursuing with this record? "R&B for now! Althou, I love everything from Rock to Latin, mainly I want to connect to the people who'd appreciate the music first and usually those who know good music are people like myself". *Be sure to look out for Detroit's very own Tor'Juan, whose alias will be revealed once the "3" song Introductory Ep hits the streets near years end.
