Where's the Love? - honest critique needed!

I just want to ask my fellow orgers... "Where's the love, or even the hate, y'all?" biggrin

Erik D. and I wanted to share our joint creation with all of you first... the remake of High Steppin Lady, the new version titled What a Lady Should Be... but very few people have taken the time to give us a listen and offer feedback, whether that be good or bad.

For those few of you who HAVE offered it up, we really appreciate that.

In the past here, I have offered many honest critiques of your various materials, and hope that the things I've offered have been respected... but as an artist, I ALSO rely on the critiques of my peers to help me continue to grow as an artist.

Erik and I are two serious artists who are proud of this collaborative effort, which in my opinion has inspired BOTH of us to move to new levels of musical growth.... and we think you'll really dig what we've put on the table.

So give it an honest listen, and give us some honest feedback. smile

Julianchristian & Erikd:"What a lady should be".
Sorry 2 have not as yet listened 2 your track.Just done so & i'm glad i did! To me i feel shades of Barry White, Santana, Chicago..a classic blend of styles coming together; and a classy Beautiful piece of work!Everytime i hear music around this forum,Evolution comes 2 mind. The genre's are being pushed together, & this is another example.Really sweet guy's. Plus what a theme, without being sexist, i feel woman have "Emancipated" themselves in general back 2 the stonage; as sex objects. Probably Media orientated, but your song made me think , & yeh i'm a romantic, but jeez i'm sick of all the crass woman flesh thrown at me everywhere i look.
I think it's great that the 2 of U could stretch yourselves & compromise styles, Yeh do some more.Critically flawless, gonna download, 5 stars *****. sun hug

You guys both have a good thing going! Both with your own stuff and with your collaboration. Erik, I was checking out your Move Ga Ga stuff and was thinking that I would love to see your band live, and then a couple of tracks down, you had a live track. Very cool! You have the raw, face scrunching funk that I love seeing love. Julian, were you really way from your music for 11 years, or is that just a story for the song? If you were gone from it that long, you came back strong.

oops, I guess I should have pre-read my post, I meant to say I'd love to see your stuff 'live'. Face scrunching funk that I love seeing live, that's what was ment to be said.

Face scrunching funk that I love to see love.... yeah, if there's any face scrunching love going on, I want to be participating, not watching cool

I have to say, this is one of my favorite tracks on this site.
High stepping lady was just awsome!

I also like the lyrical twist on it. This has more of a
direct common social type message. One that is needed. Lady's are a endangered species.
Great changes and musicianship, tasteful not overdone. I can definaltyl here this on a Soul/Jazz radio format.

You guys need to push this.

As I said before, I like what you guys come up with together, but I had a preference for the original version. I really hope you guys start something from scratch. The results will be amazing once again.

I really was away from it for 11 years... walked away for my own reasons. The most I did during those years was sit at a friend's piano every now and then, or help someone with their music. I started to miss it... and finally decided to "come home".
