Attention: Take back your genre on soundclick.com!

Hey guys, we haven't had any plays on soundclick in a few weeks. I know it's the calm before the storm, and projects 2 and 3 are coming up soon... But I just thought I'd post the link to our page. http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm

Jason recently posted this over at the NFO board: http://newfunkorder.com/p....php?t=363

ATTENTION: TAKE BACK YOUR GENRE ON SOUNDCLICK.COM ! READ!
I realize that our web traffic seems slow lately, but I am urging you all to boost your fellow NFO members' internet play by downloading and listening to NFO artist's songs on Soundclick.com. It seems that our primary genre, FUNK, is being infiltrated by people who are clearly not funk artists- one title I seen on there was called "14 Porn Girl Asses". This is clearly, CLEARLY unacceptable, and for this song to climb higher than J'Shua's songs, Manki's songs, or my songs, is ridiculous. I have tried to contact Soundclick about the matter, but they seem to be turning a blind eye to the problem. So, I ask of you, as I will be doing as well, listen to fellow NFO member's songs, or at least CLICK the button of lo-fi play (if you don't have time to listen or can't where you are). WE, THE PEOPLE OF FUNK should be topping these charts, and it is a travesty that us funky people are not on top, and meanwhile, those inappropriate impostors are eclipsing us in the charts. PLEASE, PASS THIS ON TO PRINCE.ORG- COPY AND PASTE IT AND POST IT OVER THERE.

Thank you,
Jason Dodson
The Founder of the New Funk Order.

P.S.- I don't usually flaunt that title, but people need to know the seriousness of this matter.

Sorry it took me so long to post this over here J. err

Jason with all due respect I really don't understand how charts on the net are any different to charts " out there " - neither are an indication of the true reflection of quality of music that we all are really just sharing not competing not looking to be better than anyone else just openly loving all creations as expressions of one universal soul expressing itself in all its different microparts.

The New Funk Order deserves to be respected for the main idea you have been portraying of 'freeing the music' which does not only occur financially but spiritually and maybe this kind of idea that there are 'imposters' in a public domain music site is generating a negative energy that creates a spiritually restrictive effect on what the New Funk Order is all about.

Music is such a powerful medium do we really need to infiltrate it with the notion that someone out there is stealing something from us when as spiritual people we already know that God is everywhere working it's magic in ways that take time for most of us to understand while our egos and indignation cast a shadow on a the real light of truth that all music is ONE just as all people are ONE just as even when we feel a sense of injustice the higher part of us knows that in that moment we separated ourselves from a unity of thought and acceptance and faith.

Good music attracts the listeners who were always meant to hear it we don't need to shove it in people's faces cuz that would be trying too hard and we're too cool for that y'know and good music will always find it's intended destination in the hearts and minds of others no matter where it sits on internet charts cuz anyone can hit on a song 100 times to push it up in the charts but that dont mean its any good so lets put our faith in the real work of light and love and forgive ourselves for thinking for a second that the love and light of god doesnt know what its doing.

The conundrum is apparent.Commercial type promotion vs. Idealism.Actually i've just watched a documentary re:Jimi Hendrix. On entering the U.K. Jimi formed'the experience', with Noel Redding, & ..can't remember(drummer). The info. i want 2 impart: "Hey Joe", hit the English charts like a rocket.According 2 the Doc. his record company went out with wads of money and bought up most of the copies of the single, from the shops who's sales controlled chart placings!
The Music industry is infamous 4 this type of activity. There's the situation @ the moment with "musicology". prince including his Album with ticket purchases.
Has it gone "Gold",are these legitimate sales, is this practice 'fair' ?
I don't want 2 comment.
I cant get my head around this as i agree with Jason & Vina's feelings;& Sacredwarrior&7salles position.
I'm glad i got 2 hear Jimi Hendrix, coz in the states i doubt whether he would've ever become famous and a Top Selling Artist. What a tragedy befell this Dynamic Artist Though.Noel Redding (bassist 4 "the Experience"), said ; "we were selling hundreds of thousands of records and selling out stadiums, but we were only getting 40 pounds a week !" There manager (a X mi5 agent), was reported to have deposited 100's of thousands of $ in secret Bank accounts.Noel continued, "Jimi & i were concened about the factor of being so successful, and getting a pitance".The whole story of Jimi's life is a tragic one,but i'm glad i have his albums.PRINCE,AS WE HAVE ALL WITNESSED HAS ONLY JUST RECENTLY MADE OPTIONS 4 HIMSELF IN THE MARKET PLACE, RATHER THAN BEING "A SLAVE ".
I'm not clever enough 2 know the ins & outs of the Music Industry, & are concerned 2 see problems of spirituality, vs. popularity arise in this Forum where great music is being posted regularly. Personally my stance is that God is REAL, and i do have an EGO. 'God helps those who help themseves!'
Yeh i've written a lot but this topic hits me hard. There is No way Prince, Jimi Hendrix,Frank Zappa, Were, & are not, spiritual people.Someone once told me when i joked that i was Broke & i wished prince could give me a free pass 2 see Him Live in AUSTRALIA last year, "it is a business u know !" eek peace

Yes, the whole point here is to get your music heard. I know the charts don't mean anything in the big picture, but being there gets you exposure. It's fun. Of course it shouldn't be the definition of how good your music is.

I totally respect and admire sacredwarrior's views. I have 3 cds of her great music and I wouldn't have it if she didn't think that way. Flux brought up some great points. Salles, I know what you're saying, it's just fun to experiement and see what happens when you play your songs once a day and ask others to do it too. I've had my tracks up since November and this is the first time I've played them all once a day and somehow, other people are playing them too. It's very interesting to see what happens on the charts. It's not really that different than real radio... and it's really just about exposure.

Heck, if it wasn't for the New Funk Order being on the charts at Soundclick, Joe Kelley wouldn't have contacted us and we wouldn't be getting airplay on his station. There are soooo many sides to this equation.

I don´t think that it is WRONG to do it, each with his own and I respect it. But i just couldn´t picture myself doing it. i would vote 100 times to your songs vina, just because i think you deserves to be there. but i wouldn´t vote on my songs, i don´t know why, but i wont. razz
i cant explain it is bigger than me.
