Updated ... feeling experimental Alright...
Lemme 'splain. Tonight inspiration struck me like a thunder bolt. And in your honor I have composed ... "Experiment # 7" - if someone like VinaBlue or sacredwarrior weren't too busy cutting potatoes to sing on one of my tracks, this is what I would offer. "Basic Soul" - very basic R&B groove. "Child's Play" - I don't even know where to begin with this one. So think "Cool" meets "In All My Dreams" meets "Alphabet St." "Never on Sunday" - A groove based, mellow 'Wendy & Lisa' type ditty tinged with some Joni Mitchell. This one is a personal favorite ... really soothing "Blues" - inspired by "Seems So Long" and "You've Got It Bad" by Stevie Wonder. And I changed "Synthia Rhodes" back to the original version... sounds a lot less "busy" IMO and changed "Outtro". [This message was edited Tue May 11 18:41:08 2004 by psykosoul]

psykosoul said: I was listening to rough drafts from years ago and stumbled across this: a rough, rough draft of a song I've been playing with for years called "Heaven" ( I had an instrumental of this on my soundclick page last year which has been drastically reworked ) But here it is in it's initial stages with two loops, a bad Al Green impression, and a 2 year old. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off when I found this. Let's see if someone can guess what the piano loop is
"ay!" I put this on cd a while ago. It was very beautiful ill never got that piano loop 4 the life o me. ps hows "Goes .." goin..if u still wanna do it.. ( this reminded me of that) [This message was edited Thu May 6 7:29:41 2004 by paisleypark4] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

No reason for the
Bad Al Green still has more soul than I could muster and those harmonies got to me. Throw in a cute little kid, I'm feelin this 7 year old demo. Seven years old? Damn. You could've said this was from yesterday and I would've felt it the same. There is so much talent here that it is starting to intimidate me.

Was doing some tweaking to my soundclick page and stuck that emoticon there for safe keeping. Thanks Slave! That really means a lot to me coming from you because you are a bad muthafuya.

It's just that it gets confusing, because the previous responses are about another song. Now, uh, I gotta get back to these...

Thanks Izaiah. It's easier for me to take out my frustrations through music than anything else. Things will look up soon enough. "Never On Sunday" almost became an alternate version of "He Goes Away From Me". After the millionth vocal take, I kinda got pissed and decided to start from scratch. But alas, I just couldn't bring myself to change it. I swear it's going to be the death of me, but I will get it completed. This is all your fault for that haunting line "I just met her and it already hurts..."

Amazing stuff. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!
