one question..

HOW DO U MAKE THE REVERB SOUNDS? I dont know how in the world to do the little friction reverb thing that Prince does. I hear it all over the music..what is that called?

Hi Paisley. I don't know what you mean about the "little friction reverb thing". On which part? There isn't much reverb on this track, except for a bit on a couple of the backup vocal tracks. Most of them are w/o reverb, but there are so many in spots (up to 10) that they probably make it sound like there's an effect on them.

Oh, that is the flanger we were talking about. Actually, two of them. It's a software plugin that comes with Cubase and the 2nd one is made by Waves, called Enigma.

Prince used hardware flangers in the day. Probably made by Eventide, though there were several that were popular. He really loved that effect and it worked well for him, obviously.

Vina, got the link to work. Playing "Flutter" now. You may hear this a lot, but it reminds of The Cure, which was a great band. The guitar solo comes in really nice and also cool atmospheric pads.
