Learning and Buying guitar I know this was posted somewhere on here before but can anyone tell me what the best pricewise guitar to learn guitar on? I'm assuming acoustic is best to learn on first. I'm a 35yr old that has always wanted to learn how to play and I'm dying to learn but I have to thrifty. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

Well I personally think its best to learn on acoustic and my reasons for this is that its a little harder than electric as the string guage tends to be thicker, this stregthens your fingers making barre chords etc seem like a doddle when playing on electric. Also the sustain on a acoustic isnt as good as you can acheive on an electric so getting sound outta hammer ons etc is more difficult and you can't hide mistakes with distortion etc. I suppose all I'm saying is that its a little more challenging ,even now I try and learn songs on my acoustic and then play them on my electric later. So in a sense my acoustic has been a good way to work out before I play my electric. I'm sure other people may have different opinions on this but thats the way I feel best way to learn.Good luck.
