My first rap song.. "Shareif & Sharrod"

Inspired by Little Wing...I always wanted 2 do a rap cut but i have a dumbass voice.

Sharief & Sharrod were these little kids i used 2 know in New York.

This is not a true story, just their names, and their mom was a very nice lady (r.i.p.) (cancer).

My brother made up the chorus in 1989 when we used 2 make up songs about them.

I used the beat i had for "Funk Station" cuz that beat is crucial.

It's only 1:20 so it wont take none of ur time 2 stop by..and say hi! smile

If ur Otan..skip this and listen 2 "45 Rpm" (thanks for the post again much love!)

Sharief and Sharrod
oo oo da bod
when u rock 2 the hip
u rock 2 the hop
and when u rock the hip
and when u rock the hop
Sharief and Sharrod they dont stop

Shareif and Sharrod went 2 the store
They were tired of them Ramen soups but they were so poor
U couldnt blame them cuz they mom never gave em shit
She was busy tryin 2 find out who she had 2 trick
She had the nerve 2 tell them where they had 2 be
When her legs was open wide as can see
But they never cried and they never sobbed
Cuz one day they was gonna be on the top

Sharief and Sharrod
oo oo da bod
when u rock 2 the hip
u rock 2 the hop
and when u rock the hip
and when u rock the hop
Sharief and Sharrod they dont stop

They came 2 my house i made them listen 2 Nappy Dugout
They said they wanted 2 b free but they couldnt succeed
Cuz they got beat up, by some stupid punk
He was livin in the gutter and he thought he’d make them stutter
Now he beggin 4 cheese behind Mickey D’s
Stayin on the knees
Catchin that disease

Now they on the Mic
Pullin rhymes so tight
Cuz they knew on day
They’d have a better life

So… (chorus)

Hi smile

I'd say, pick up that mic and record it dude!
Don't hold back because you *think* you have a 'dumbass voice'. Your own voice always sounds different to yourself than it does to others when you hear it back. I'm sure it's not as bad as you think, so just go for it! cool

Hey man this is hot! That beat is slamin! You have a natural feel for rythm'n in your flow, just go ahead and push your voice out thr! It sounds cool. Nothing bad about it at all...music

You dont have anyone handcuffing you. So dont let fear be a restraint for you.
You got the beats, the gear, do you thang and dont hold back.

I want to hear some screaming on the next track!!! headbang

Damn, I clicked the wrong link before so I thought you didn't record it yet! (One of the links in your post doesn't go to this song but 2 others)
Your rapping is cool, nice flow and all and no 'dumbass voice' anywhere (believe me, your voice is cool) wink
But, it feels like you're holding back a little, also in the mix of the raps; I can't understand a word from just listening to it. I think putting the raps a bit more up front in the mix (maybe with some compression on the raps) will help a great deal. You could also try to double the raps in the chorus.
I'd like to hear you rap more, it really adds a lot to your music.

Kevlar

I dig your voice, you got that bottom end that is real nice. Reminds of Curtis Blow a bit, you just gotta toss in some hu ha ha hu... I look forward to hearing more vocal stuff on your tracks.

I also really dug your 45 track, that is extremely cool!

I slowed down my vocal pitch 2 sound cooler cuz my voice sounds very lame. I was holdin back, makin sure i was rhymin right. I shouldve learned it more b4.

I am totally inspired by ur music 2. Boogie 2 The Beat..damn i wish i made that! Wish i was that rappa! smile Mad love always man!
