Heh, the true genius is in simplicity smile.
And I dunno if you want to hear this, but your voice really sounds a bit like prince.
It's a weird weird little tune, but I like it.

Nice simple melody... you're right, though. I'm sitting here humming it as I'm typing this. biggrin

Your vocals were scratching my tweeters, though, like you drove the input levels too high on your mic.

Maybe it's unsolicited advice, but back down the input level on your mic so it doesn't peg out, but then when you mix, EQ and compress to bring them back out front. Apply effects as necessary.

You sound like you're a little hesitant to project your voice... but you must LET IT GO, bro. We cannot contain the spirit-ah! Do ya hear me-ah?! Now jump up, brotha, and SING that track-ah!

Oops... a little of that southern Baptist upbringing coming back up on me. Anyone got a Tums?

Ha, shit man, this song i was actually trying to project my voice, ha, damn.
i know next time i will just scream until i die.
i'll have a vocal coach soon. I have a voice in there somewhere ya know.
most vocals on the track can't be sung to hard though, cause the melody will be changed in a different way, but the end of the chorus i do it.
well ya know, it started as a bad quality idea cause i was gonna record it with some more professional equipment but then i couldn't stop and had to make it.

D'oh!!!! LOL! My bad, Tim!

'Scuse me while I just stick my foot in my mouth. lol

You know what really strengthens the voice? You're prolly gonna laugh your ASS off at me, but when I was still doing live gigs, I would warm up by singing scales... WHILE JUMPING UP AND DOWN. lmao!!!!! That helps you find your notes quickly while keeping the punch in your voice.

It works like a muhfuggah, though, because you learn all KINDS of diaphragm control. The trick is to sound like you're NOT jumping up and down, but keeping it nice and smooth while you're active. And it's also great for building performance power. And vocal stamina.

You think about it, and it makes perfect sense... because when you perform, you're moving and dancing while you're poppin your words out there, trying not to run out of breath.

I don't know if a vocal coach will tell you to do THAT, but hey... whatever works, right?

The Voice has so many techniques and tricks to it. just about anyone could sing if they really want to, but not everyone knows the Art, and its truly a hard Art to learn.

the funny thing is i know a lot about the voice and vocals, but ever since my voice changed back in high school i've alwys struggled, and i didn't sing much through that change so i messed up. before that i was a really good singer.

But i will always make songs for myself and songs for all of you to hear and i hope u will enjoy them more everytime i make a new one and get better, ha, ya know.

Nooooo... I disagree. There are TRULY some tone deaf muhfuggas out there who just CAN'T be trained to sing... just because they simply can't lock on to the note they're hearing, because they don't hear it the way we hear it.

My own MOTHER -- who was truly a vocal MASTER in her own right -- used to tell me back in high school that I sang like "someone was standing on my neck". LMMFAO!!!! But at least I had the gift of nailing the notes, if not the proper techniques, and so I had something to build on. Before she died, she did tell me how proud she was of me for developing all of my musical abilities, and that my voice had come a long way. *sigh* I MISS that lady.

Keep working at it, Tim... your voice is not bad at all. It just needs to be harnessed and directed.

When you sing louder, you have to backup from the mic. Either that or lower the input level on your mixer, I think. I've heard some good vocals from you, so it's good that you are getting a vocal coach. Your fasletto is good from what I remember.

This song is cool, but I like your other stuff more. My twocents
