Suggestion: org Musician/Artist/Photographer Hangout?

I wondered what you guys thought about broadening up this section before I proposed it over in the prince.org site discussion forum.

The way I see it, this would only strengthen this forum up a bit by having a place for the other "artists" in the org AS WELL as it's musicians.

Perhaps by doing this, it would help cross-network some cool talent such as other graphic designers and photographers within the org with our very own musicians, which in my opinion, works together anyway when it comes to web/graphic design, cover art, photography, promotion, etc. How about the inspiration that comes from seeing a cool photograph or painting and putting it to song? Or vice versa? I know I draw some inspiration from this place in some of my work, but sometimes I feel weird about posting some of my work in this section because it's the WRONG FORUM. By posting in the general discussion forum, it gets pushed down off the first page in minutes, some days.

The org members that I look for the most in this forum are the multi tallented ones like Lewis with web work, Beau with his design ability, Vina for her photography, and dag-nabbit, me! I just think it all works together anyway.

Perhaps simple change in the forum name, might drive a lot more artistic talent over here.

What do you think?

Cool idea

I'm not sure how to implement it but I've had the same thought especially when I found that a lot of us work in Advertising

just changing the name and description should be enough.

I'm wondering if a lot of people don't come over here simply because it's labled "Musician Hangout".

I, myself would only post photography, visual art work in the general discussion forum before, only to see it disapear by the end of the day because of the high volume posts. I'd just love to see more "artists" network/collaborate around here and get productive like the NFO project, if not GET IN on the NFO project which, so far is a prince.org one for the most part anyway.

Why not just ORG ARTIST SECTION or something like that - including those spoken word freaks as well. And ooh - I throw some mean pottery.

I tried to create a forum like that in my MSN group, I call it Artist Community.

I could never see why we were separated from the rest of the site anyway. Its been great fun in here, Ive met all of you cool people & I like to think we have our own little hide away from the rest of the wierdos on this site wink but we were never much of a problem to the site compared to subjects like 'politics & religion' or 'love sex relationships'.

I like the idea of broadening the genre of this forum. Its like an empty room in here sometimes & we could use some critique from non musicians

Perfect!
Then in the description:
"A place for artists, musicians, photographers on the org to discuss and share their work, music, techniques, gigs, etc."

Or something like that.
