CULT OF PERSONALITY/GENDER vs.MUSIC

listening to your favorite sounds,as a male, has another side.Often i,ll be grooving along to a clip of my favourite artist to then be injected with a comment from a female friend,"oh! isn't He so gorgeous!" I'll stop listening to the Music , studying the performers attack , delivery, and general onstage demeanor.'WOW did you see how prince pulled his head back and changed his stance so he could really deliver an awesome solo[Dolphin?]".etc."WOW" look, he only used 2 fingers on that run'.Oh he's so sexy', she'll continue.'Well sure i suppose He is'.But i was really kinda studying his technique darl!' SORRY GIRLS i must sound really sexist !
Being a musician i really love seeing live performers 'hitting thier groove'.It's a fantastic thing to watch! I think i see something different to what my female friends are seeing. Also i'm pretty obsessed WITH THE DRAMA of rock guitarists ways of overcoming stress and pulling it off! A WAY WITHIN.So amazing ,awesome.
HOW DO YOU GUYS & GIRLS FEEL ABOUT MY COMMENTS.Do the sexes interpret performers in a totally different way?I OFTEN have had to say " i must be wierd girl ".I love the guy [whoever], but i,d rather enjoy the concert than try to get backstage and snog on with the band!hahaha.! Any feed back about this would be fun.
FLUX.
PLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED @ THE WAY THIS CAME OUT .I RESPECT ALL WOMAN AND AREN'T TRYING TO MAKE THEM SEEM SHALLOW.MEN ARE FROM MARS & WOMAN ARE FROM VENUS? (I'M SURE IT WORKS BOTH WAYS).....FLUX!!!

I think it's more about non-musicians vs. musicians. I'm female and yes, I think about how sexy Prince is, but I write music and I LOVE listening to the different live arragements of his songs. Like the Detroit 86 video. I just love watching the signals he gives the band and how they follow his hand motion like at the end of "Life Can Be So Nice". Fucking incredible. I get off on watching people like Tori and Bjork perform. ANYONE (male or female) that is "in charge" and "in control" on stage is sexy to me, ESPECIALLY if they wrote there own shit. In the end, if it's all looks and no talent, I'm not interested, I'm actually offended. How dare these soft porn wanabees call themselves musical artists?

lol But that's just me.

I honestly do think that "attaction" does have something to do with music...

But I wonder if it is not more of the person's sense of purpose which makes them that much more attactive. I mean, its ok to be good looking but if that's all that one has going for them, then there you go. We, as human beings, are vein to some extent and because of this, we do tend to gravitate towards certain things. Therefore: I think everyone loves, whom they percieve, a winner.

peace
