Cloud guitar stolen from Paisley Park! Check this out...
I have been getting a lot of emails about a so-called 'Original Prince Cloud Guitar' on Ebay, so I emailed the guy who was selling it and told him off for making people think it was the real thing when it is clearly a copy. Anyway, he mailed me back saying that he had been 'contacted' by Paisley Park asking him to return it to them immediately as it had been stolen from there. This is the 2nd time I have seen it on Ebay. But wait, there's more... ...This guitar is the prototype for the Shecter Cloud guitar!!! He told me he got it from a 'source' in Minnesota. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB...3703727074

i had emailed him as well about it, and he told me the same thing about where he acquired it from. he said it was built by andy beach, and that the scroll was much fatter, as well as the fact that the headstock was incorrect in size (like the schecters), but it was not tilted back like the schecter guitars.
i had a feeling it was a prototype. however, it probably was really played by Prince.

Its a modified first generation schecter. Hes trying to pass it off as a protoype now. Princes peoople made him yank his first ad. Princes people are all over him.
t\Theres about 4000 of these guitars made. Npg in europe and USA sold them for years. So buy a schecter, hot rod it and it will be alot cheaper then what hes trying to sell it for, I guess the part that gets me angry is how he tried to decieve people by saying it was Prince's stage guitar with no documentation. What a scumbag!

Dude, it's not a production model Shecter. I have a 1st gen Shecter myself. Look again at the way the front pickup is mounted - from behind, not from the front. Also look at the bridge. This is fitted with a Schaller 457. The Schaller bridge will not fit on a Shecter without drastic modification and a respray. The front-mounted pickup on the production Shecters came about as a cost-saving measure, as did the smaller headstock. The neck can be made from a standard sized neck blank, rather than having to glue extra pieces of wood on to the top side of the head. It's all about cost saving.
Several prototypes were made before the Shecter was put into production and this is one of them. Paisley Park would have had the final word on what the guitar looked like.
