Who knows. I've been digging that CD all over again - it could easily be lifted by accident. But let's not have another 100-post thread dedicated to how much I rip off Prince... here, at Prince.org, in the musicians section...

This is good shit, otan. I love that keyboard bass/lead sound, very cool! Furthermore your production skills have grown tremendously, this is a really clean and tight mix, man! How did you achieve that, dude? Any production tips you could give us???
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I hear what he's saying, but I also hear lots of other influences on this, so it's all good.

thumbs up! But now I can't download the new mix! Ah well, I'll just wait for the super improved version. Love the keyboard in the intro and outro. What ever possessed you to touch a keyboard like that!

I think the vocals need more of your normal voice on this track as well. The falsetto is good, but it needs to be weighed down in the verses.

yeah - I love the falsetto, to a point. i'm just not sure what approach to take for the regular voice - Michael Hutchence or Sly? Dunno.

My keyboard talents - HAH!

My approach to playing keys is not unlike Rain man driving the car. I just lay my hands on there and start noodling.

I know a little about chords - keep the fingers more than 2 keys apart, all white or all black makes the chords happier, mixing it up yields more complex chords. Honest. That's about all I know. Throw in a little knowledge about dissonance and there you go... self taught keys. Do I know a suspended chord? Nope. Augmented? No. No clue.

The solo is basically me hitting keys and then bending up or down until it sounds right.

Which, now that I think about it, ain't that far from my guitar playing style...

I STILL am having problems with the midi on that thing... which I spose is just as well. I'm doing great just playing. As soon as I get midi going, I'm sure it'll change everything in the songs. That's one of the things I don't like about Prince when HE went midi. (music was obviously loops and programmed stuff... I noticed the change sometime around Sign Of the Times)

So - don't settle in for the winter just yet. I MAY end up calling you soon. All i'm using is Cakewalk Home Studio - not digging it at all.

I'm down to using Cakewalk Music Creator 2003 after my Sonar3 expired on me on Jan. 1st. I am a year behind now on my productions.

I finally got a chance to hear this. I couldn't at work.
It hot! Like Gumbo! Alot of different ingrediants.

I wish the radio was more open, there are so many hybrid types of music to be created. You should try to push this on satalite radio. They're more open to this kinda stuff.

p.s.

Start a new band! I'd love to hear this live!
