Don't forget! (march 1st, cut-off date for submissions)

So far, it looks like the bar just got raised from project one. Talk about tallent! Everyone should be realy proud of their work on this. But as we learned from project one, if we don't set some sort of timeline, it will never get done.

We'll need everyone's Copywrite information / Credit Notes info as well.

get you cut in before it's too late

Submit here: http://newfunkorder.com/p....php?t=253

After this deadline, you will have a 2 month grace period to make improvements on your track. But you must reserve your spot by March 1st.

The project timelines are as followed
January - March: compile album / promote last release
April - June: finalize album / promotion material
July - Sept: compile album / promote last release
October - December: finalize album / promotion material

That's 2 project albums per year. You got the FUNK?

I've already stated that I will be participating, but haven't decided on a cut. Obviously I have quite a few to choose from, but I'm working on something special. Is this ok?

I think you'll need to clarify what you mean by deadline.

The FINISHED MASTERED song. Not the rough mix. I know I'm definitely guilty of this with my last song - got the first version in with a "Hold onto that one while I mix it down better" - which took me what, two months?

To those of you planning to submit, be sure that you've got a song finished. Finished. Finalized. Like I said, I know I'm throwin stones from the glass shed, but just trying to expedite the process this time.

Additionally, does anyone actually KNOW who all is participating this time? Slave? What's up with your recording? I haven't heard nairn from you in awhile.

Maybe you should start with a list of submitters, and then you'll have a checklist to start with.

Just a thought. And no, I'm not submitting this time - I was on the first one, that's rocks enough for me... make room for some o this talent round heres.

That link has all current submissions for project 2. Whether they put out when the time comes remains to be seen. We are getting wave files up front this time.

True, I totally agree. By the way did you see the final stats for January? You're up there, man! Anywho, I'm thinking I'll be happy being incognito on project 2, now that 2FunkE is back, I'm gonna see about getting "My Groove" onto project 2 just for kicks. If not, that's ok too. I GOTTA finish MY cd!

I know, I've been through some ego/drama with trying to play with other people and I've been working on being a better drummer (with my new drum set). Waiting for my new mixing board as I type, buying some drum mic's from a friend, blah, blah, blah.

I'm really going to make an effort to get on the next NFO, I just have to. So March 1st for the committment, then May for the final mix, all sound like dates I can actually deal with so that's my goal.

The main thing I'm working on is getting a better sound overall and then recording all of the different parts. I went through all of the ideas I came up with last year and have been building them into songs. I'm babbling now.

peace

I'm sure it's all good if you put the credit in the notes.
Right?

Right?

I think you have to officially ask for permission for samples. Ask Otan about this, he's always got mad knowledge.

Actually that's not a bad idea! What if you did a satire where you got the "country bumpkin" goin on and he gets beat up by the Funk Police.

Something "Exodus" style like that. Be creative! I bet you could do something very entertaining.

"Sweet Erotica" is a great song.

but I love the Jimi style workout on "4th Dim".

Looking at this from a "album view", this one compliments Franks tune the best. So when it comes time to compile this thing together, it's easier to ballance it out and no one seems apart from the rest.

My opinion.

I don't think we should decide on anyone's song based on someone else's song. I like 4th Dimension and Sweet Erotica, but I think Sweet Erotica should make the cd. We could leave it up to Styles, its his music.

Ok, check out "Alt-country Buffet" - that's the country track for the comical bumpkin-NFO police segue. Tell me what you think. We can use our "black mf in the house" voices.
