Hi y'all, "2funkE" is back with 3 new songs!

Hey folks! After a period of getting things together again, I've recently started to viste the Org again (some of you have already noticed). It's good to be back now that I feel much better!

I have been very active with "2funkE" lately and we managed to produce 3 new tracks ("Detroit", "Don't Hang" and "Mascara Love") which can be heard and downloaded at the almighty Soundclick.com. I am very curious what you people think of them, I think we have grown musically with these three songs. We have managed to put some more variation to the tracks by using different grooves in one song, and even played a freaky synth solo in the song "Detroit"!

Anyway, it's good to be back, hopefully you'll enjoy the new tracks, please let me know your feedback.

PS: suggestions for a bandname are very welcome, we aren't exactly happy with "2funkE", you know... lol

Thanks! Your music is good too, I listened to the funk cuts and they are very well produced. It reminds me of d'Angelo (and Prince of course). Love the guitar on your tracks!

Thanks for your compliments, manki!

Usually when we start a new song, we pick some records from Ingmar's extensive funk collection and just sample the first decent kickdrum, handclap/snare, hihats and shakers we encounter. Unfortunately I don't remember what drum sounds we have sampled for "Detroit", I only know there is a TR-808 pattern running along...

Detroit is really cool. I think its your best, as far as songwriting and arranging goes.

Macara Love is a nice, booty-shakin groove. The breakdown at 3 minutes is super cool.

Don't Hang. I dig the beat on this. It almost has the feeling of the beat to Erotic City.

You just made my day two times, first for laying down these top-ass cuts, and second for getting yo top ass back here! Welcome back dude! nod

Tunes are funktastic, Detroits my favourite with the zapp voice and great keys, but the percussion break as V said on Mascara Love is wicked.

man i spoke too soon, Im just listening to Dont Hang. Now THATS my favourite! Very tight, and that groove was made for waking the dead man.
jerkoff.....drool BULLSEYE! cool

Detroit sounds a LOT like Herbie Hancock's big electro hit - what was it? Rockit? I forget, even tho I had the wrecka mysef.

Very rock solid man. You need to get this spinning on the dance floors! Let me add this to the funk site, PLEEZ!

Thanks for the compliments, you all make my day!!!

I hope you are all sincere and not just saying nice words for a guy that has been through a rather difficult period. You must know that I'd rather receive honest criticism than empty compliments solely based on sympathy. But as I know most of you, I should not worry about this! wink

Anyway, it's good to be back, I love you all! grouphug

Alright, I'm done, this is too damn funky for me!

You ART THEE MAN, Mr. Funkaholic! I REALLY enjoy "Don't Hang" and "Wah Wah", and I also dig the synth funk of "Detroit" and "Mascara Love".

I seriously want a copy of these songs, especially "Don't Hang" and "Wah Wah". Send me an org note and let me know if you can send them to me. Maybe we can exchange CD's, one of mine for one of yours- me and Cloud9's gonna do that soon.

This stuff is AWESOME. I was seriously jammin' here at lunch today! WHO CAN SAY "FUNK IS DEAD" AFTER HEARING THESE JAMS?

Your friend,
Jason

Double Dutch Groove Machine sounds kinda cool.

Pungent?

1. Affecting the organs of taste or smell with a sharp acrid sensation.

2. a. Penetrating, biting, or caustic: pungent satire.

b. To the point; sharp: pungent talks during which the major issues were confronted

Pungent has to do with smell, sometimes undesirable smells, lol. Stank.

How about Jerhi Curl Juice?

How doooo you spell that? Jehri? Geri? Gheri?

I kinda like 2funkE AND I'M SURPRISED it wasn't used back in the day alongside acts like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, The Treacherous 3, Jazzy 5, etc. In short the name is simple and to the point. It's old school and it vibes well with the old school flavor of your music.
Now where's my Activator & Moisturizer fro afro pick
