New song, Airplay, and the international challenge

CHECK OUT THE SONG:
http://www.blindslim.com/...ckDoor.mp3

A KILLER song - I love it. Very "Staple Singers" kind of funk. That's me killing the cat, I mean, playing harmonica, and of course doing the wah guitar.

I'm jazzed.

They just played our CD on the radio this morning - Lola was in the studio doing some promotion about the CD
and the IBC, and the Deejays actually remembered me from my old band! Nice.

Thursday morning we're driving up to Memphis to play in the International Blues Challenge. Over 200 bands, sponsored from all over the world, are going into this thing. Our band has been paired against the New York and the Chicago blues societies (you can only get into this thing if you're sponsored - this year the Rock N Roll hall of fame is sponsoring a band I think).

I'll stop by Graceland, Sun Studios and the Gibson Plant, see if they're giving away free samples.

wow!

very impressive MR. hall. Sounds more like a volume pedal through a flange than a wah, but that's just on the first listen. REAL GOOD. Production quality is very nice indeed. Where did you record it?

Vocals are sweet! This sounds like a fun band to be in. Congrats and Good Luck on the international challenge! I bet you'll have a funkygoodtime. Don't forget to take lots of pictures for us.

BTW, your harp has improved!

It was recorded in several places - using Pro Tools on a laptop for the most part. I had nuttin to do with the recording process on this one (production-wise).

Lola's a fantastic person to play with.

Awesome! So much soul and I love the keys. Sounds like a flange with a volume pedal, more than a wah.

Sort of... bass drum was muffed, so they used that track to trigger an electric bass drum sound.
