Reamke of Jason D's (Flashpointe's) "U Lied"

http://www.soundclick.com...zmusic.htm

I remade a song i really liked off of Jason's Realeyes album. I wish :I: had the original 2 post also so u can hear the similarities and differences.

I changed the beat, and the original keyboard line had a "I Didnt Mean 2 Turn U On" quality 2 it, but :I: changed it just a lil bit.

So check it out. Thank you Flashpointe 4 letting me do the song!

I've heard the original, but I don't remember the music. I recognize the vocal melody though. I wish I could hear the original and compare. It sounds like you're playing a keyboard on this, are you?

I like the drum machine beat but feel the keyboard lines don't really fit, they sound a little out of key etc. I like the experimentation of your solo material though, keep it up...

most in depth review so far! I thought they were out of line a bit, (i have 2 use wav studio to fit and paste things 2gether.)
Always trying something new, thank you.

Cool, thats the only problem they are disjointed and not quite in sync with the rhythm and core melodies. Not that there should be anything wrong with breaking the so called "rules" in theory I just thought it sounded awkward on the ear, maybe somebody else will disagree.

How does one link a keyboard up to a computer? Which leads are used etc? It has something to do with MIDI right? I then assume you can play along in realtime on a music composition package?

You're always succeeding at the supercool experimental shit. These vox seem to be a bit off at points, though. I don't mind the keys. Never heard the original, either. I enjoyed it, as I always do, man. Keep it up!

Ah cool so do you use a bogstandard PC stick mic or run a professional mic through an amplifier into your "Line in" port?

O.K. Iz, the tune is alright but I had no fucking idea you've been making music with a Playstation II shocked all of this time!

I mean you've written "MTV Generator" more than once but I finally found out what it is.

IMO, this makes everything you've been doing here a million times better because you are using the bare minimum and EVERYTHING you do is original.

How old are you? doh!

Tee Hee! Im 21. I have been messin with this since i was 19. Thanx man, i have become a master at that damn thing! I really do have 2 use bare minimum, but it took me about a year 2 finally get what i need out of it! One of the HIghest of compliments!

MD7: I use a bogstandard GE mic to record vocals and keyboard right in2 the line in yes.

Ahh so you line into a playstation or PC? Wouldnt a bogstandard mic with no amplifier be too quiet via a PC linein port?

I'll start a thread on keyboard/MIDI.

the keyboard would go in the line in, the mic would go in the mic in. My playstation is just hooked str8 2 the stereo so i can record it from there (the beats)

I'm saying though. Cats are gonna start downgrading to playstation and MTV music generator with bogstandard microphone so as to replicate PP4's dirty production sound.

MD7, Taureau, I never thought that that kind of sound u would enjoy! smile Yes it do sound underground and somewhat dirty, i guess that is just how it comes out, and it sounds raw. MTV Generator is off the hook. Although I wish I had the program on computer instead. Electric Purple was telling me he waas jealous that I had all the things I need to have a lil studio thing for under $100. Im so gald u guys think that! I think folk are sick of being fed overly polished stuff so that carves out an instant niche for you. If it ain't broke why fix it? Your setup right now gets decent results (Music is only good as the ideas/samples you use, expensive studio packages don't count for much) and the only problem as I could see it would be a cheap mic, don't you have to edit out pops/hisses etc due to their over sensitivity?

i use one cheap mic and one good one. The GE mic records voice perfectly without hisses, but it dont record music great, the cheap mic records music good with nice bass, but hisses.
Thanx 4 the ideal on the "polished" stuff! I think eye am better off like this because im scared tha I wont get the same results if eye start going on2 protools n stuff. But If i did i'd have 2 break off sum shit! lol
