by tha way, I just checked your tunes for the first time...Nice tribute to the prince.orgers. Also, I listened to song for a friend, the clubbin' one, and a couple others. You've got a really unique style and I think I like it. You make some funky sounds, and some really crazy breaks and stuff.

Hey Zac, I like your avatar. What is it?
Also, you may want to change the link in your profile, it still has mp3.com. Don't forget to include the http:// part, otherwise it doesn't work. :F:

U and otan sound close 2 one another. I was a little confused by the beat at first, but the vocals are tight and i got in2 the music.. The guitar is cool. It has a belly dancin rock feel 2 it. Everything is professionally done. And was enjoyable 2 listen 2. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Hey Yamomma, How did you do that? Ok, I thought you were reffering to me. Frank Axtell is my studio partner. I've posted his music on here from time to time before he registered his own account. I wrote the lyrics and sang lead. After playing a few bars on drums, the fender rhodes, and humming a few lines, Frank sequenced this song in the studio on the MAC: Audio Logic (I think). The synths are a SK-88, T1-80, and something else I can't recall right now. Later, I brought a girl I met in to do the vocals. I was looking for a "fat-girl" type Rosie Gaines/Bony Boyer type sound. She wasn't that good either. It's funny how different you sound in person, than on the mic. Or in her case, she froze in front of the mic. I have no recolection of her name. We kept a few of her parts in there. We then, recorded another young thang (Brandy) for the other female vocal parts. She was more relaxed and it worked. Frank, is on the back-up vocals as well. I decided to sing my own song after a few times practicing in the shower. There are some vocal effects on the "rap" part, everything else is dry except for some reverb on the "fat-girl" intro and the female spoken parts. When I was first learning flash, I pieced together the little video short. There is a real video for it that I have yet to transfer to digital format. It was making the realvideo that inspired me make it more of a percussion dominate song by showing me hanging off the roof, banging on a trash can lid and other "junk" with sticks. Since then, I have worked, and re-worked the song on paper several dozen times. Next time Frank and I have absolutely NOTHING to do, well, we'll probably go down to the local jazz club, (man, I miss hanging with him!) but the NEXT, NEXT time we have absolutely nothing to do, we might re-record it the way I hear it in my head now that is COMPLETELY not what you heard. Much more analog funk sound and less synthetic. If Frank graced the new version with his guitar, I think it would be complete. As well as me reworking the vocals to be spoken instead of singing them. And a new female vocal track(s). All this and more on "Kelly's never to be released because he is a huge perfectionist therefore never gets anything done and changes his mind hourly as well as wants to fatten his ego by doing everything himself with no other explination than to just say I did it my way album" On paper and a hand held recording device right now: "Reason 4 Rhyme pt1" - Epic, "Sign of the Times" type lyrics "Technicolor Mary" - Colorful girl, but not in a good way "Gian" - Instrumental "dead" - closing one door before opening another "Like a Child" - no one is born bad. "Invoke" - get up and move already! type song "spoken words" - narrative with some cool jazz "wet" - bed time song "Tennessee song" - outake, but might still fit with the rest "If truth came in a pill" - narrative with sound effects "Reason 4 Rhyme" pt2 (reprise) And that's all I'm going to say about that right now. Cool! Thanx for the insight!
I was curious to see how did your recording process...also, I really like the ideas that you came up with on your flash movie! Interesting stuff---Can't wait to hear more from the album! Funny enough, I'm in the same boat in a way--I think I'll have my project finished by May (God willing) Big Ups! Jshua
