Re: NFO Project 2 Submissions

I just noticed this on the NFO board yesterday and I wanted to make it more visible over here.
NewFunkOrder.com Submission Statement and Agreement,
By Jason Dodson, CEO/Founder, The New Funk Order

The New Funk Order is a place where artists can share and download their original music free of charge. To submit a song, you must be in agreement to submit the song freely, with no guarantee of monetary payment. All artists still hold all copyrights to their music/art.

The organization was created to be the start of a new music revolution, in which all artists can present a positive and strong message to those whose only wish is to greedily gain profit. That message is clear: stop viewing music as a product and start viewing it as an artform. Music will not be exploited. So many times, in recent years, companies have marketed many songs and artists that seem almost "manufactured". The standard of content and quality for music has been lowered because companies choose to market songs that make them money, rather than marketing artists with extraordinary talent and ability. For those reasons, people seek to use the internet as a free source for finding and obtaining quality music without paying outrageous prices for it. The New Funk Order seeks to bind greed and lies, and loose a new freedom to the music world.

This organization welcomes people of all music genres, and accepts music based on artistic merit rather than "money-making potential". The world must realize that some things are not to be profited from. This being said, there are only a few things that we ask you to do before submitting your song.

1. Be sure that the song is recorded with the best sound quality possible that is available to you.

2. Have respect for your listeners, because when they listen, they are respecting you. We don't seek monetary gain from the project, but we still should be as professional as possible, so that the image of the New Funk Order is not tarnished. By this, we mean that there should be no material(s) submitted that includes, but not only limited to the following:

Any act that intends to, influences, and/or does harm to anyone.
Any act of discrimination, including racist remarks, that violates federal US law and/or Illinois State law.
Any other unlawful act not listed that violates federal US law
Obscene acts, graphic violence, sexually explicit language, and/or other acts that violates FCC Title 18 United States Code, Section 1464 (18 U.S.C. § 1464).
Any such submission(s) will not be accepted by the New Funk Order.

The previous rules do not restrict you from being artistic, because you can be artistically suggestive if you wish. Simply put, we feel that it is imperative that one can freely express true art while minimizing being offensive to listeners. We want many people to enjoy this project.

Note: submission of a song does not guarantee approval. You will receive an E-mail confirming that the NFO has accepted or declined your submission.

By submitting your song, you agree to the above stated terms and conditions.

Submissions should be posted over here:

http://newfunkorder.com/p....php?t=253

Keep in mind that we will need Wave files once we get enough submissions for project 2.

It's no secret that all profits are going to go to newfunk/NFO and Yamomma. They have paid money out of their own pockets to set up our websites (newfunkorder.com and cafepress), create master copies of the cds and mail them to us, etc. At least for now, all profits will go towards reimbursing them as well as keep up future costs. It would be nice to invest in a VIP membership at soundclick.

I think we once figured out that if we divided the profits from the cds amoung the 18 artists we would each get like 13 cents. I doubt we're gonna make too much in the near future. If we do and newfunk/NFO gets fully reimbursed, any NewFunkOrder profit will go towards more NewFunkOrder activities, ie, web hosting, domain name, cafe press, soundclick and other promotional materials.

Remember, we are not in this for the money. We are in it to share our music and cross-promote. You give away a track to the NewFunkOrder and with all the buzz that has been and will be created, hopefully gain some new fans and customers to your respective cds, products, etc.

also,
From cafepress.com: All accrued commissions are paid within 45 days of the month they were accrued. Checks are sent depending on the minimum check amount you selected. Remember we offer your customers a full 30-day money back guarantee. As a result there is a 45 day "lag time" for commission payments to account for returns and exchanges.

so even if something got sold the last few days, it won't show up until 45 days?

I was on project 1, track 6: Move-JD Remix. I'm working on my contribution for the next one, but I'm thinking there are sooo many new people coming aboard we should have all new peeps for project 2 and us project1 people can hook up project 3 right away.

Anyway, I'm thinking of Naked as my next nfo donation... There is the original demo and the 2003 demo on my soundclick page. I gotta record the vocals on my pc. The 99 demo was done on a 4-track.
