Why composers that create songs wants to be heard if we do songs for ourselves, in the way and style that we like? And why would we want to be reviewed by third persons who have no idea of what is going on with our life and mind? Why do we people love to get props?

Peace of mind, outlets of expression, making each other feel better by sharing positive admirations of our music to one another, getting constructive criticism on what we can make better, many, many things. The biggest thing is FREEDOM. We are still free to share our music, and that is a plus, and that is why we have the legal, loving, free sharing New Funk Order, so that all of us can still hear good music for free, and still have an organized movement in the fight against the RIAA, corporations, and negative individuals who seek to destroy music as an ART.

Even though we do music for "ourselves", it's still nice to know that we connect with other people and that they understand what we are going through.

I know when people (as music fans) say they like my music, it means a lot to me for that reason. When people I respect and admire as musicians/composers like my music it makes me feel REALLY good, like I'm doing something right.

Or, possibly, we seek outside affirmation that we don't suck as much as we think we do.

Well. That's what it is for me. If I thought my stuff was the bomb and without flaw, I'd have no reason to share it. I would sit at home and revel in my awesomeness.

But, since I don't think that, it always helps to hear that I DONT suck, as much as I might think I do. As creative folks, we's delicate. Praise will put you above the clouds, and criticism will bury you.

I think you're right on, Beau. Isn't it funny though how some people might think we are pompous or self-centered because we want people to listen to our music and tell us they think we're cool?

We are delicate. So true. I need to be held.

yeah. its basically because can make so much music at a time knowing that it is hot and tight, and I mean, like a book once taught me

A song is only half a song if no one ever hears it.


another good line i remember was

"a song is not good enough if you cannot remember it"


And feedback always make me hungier to make something hotter and tighter than b4.

Without feedback, u start 2 feel ur music may not be good enough or no one cares...just how it works.
