If given the chance would YOU accept a gig in Prince's band NOW? I believe every musician-fan here would undoubtedly say yes, or would have said yes at a certain time..., to playing with Prince.
My answer is no. But if he asked me in... 1987, yes. But, I'm not firm on that, and I'm not sure why... What's your response?

Isn't he a lot nicer person now-days? Heck yeah, I'd love the chance to hang out with him and play some good music, even if we don't agree on certain beliefs. :keys:

And also he used to have these marathon sessions--rehearse for hours, perform for many hours more. But now, I think a definite maybe. I'd like to see him work in rehearsal first. And I'd definitely have to increase my stamina. Although I have a feeling he and da band don't put in the hours that they used to.

(to earlier days, & now) I cant sing well, UNLESS I'm singing along with the artist, I dont play an instrument, BUT I would consider bringing out the white towel. I'm willing 2 learn too! May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love.

umm...nope! I think maybe just jamming with him would be ok. Something laid back might be fun. I guess since I'm a songwriter myself... I just don't feel like learnign anybody elses songs at the moment. hehe Mainly though I'm just not into "Prince" too much anymore. If you asked me 2 or 3 years ago I would probaly go for it. Actually, I think the main reason I wouldn't is because sometimes when you meet somebody in person, you get disappointed. I don't think I'd expect anything of Prince or expect him to be a certain way. If something negative happened though, I wouldn't want it to ruin my appreciation for his MUSIC.
P.S. Good question... 5 stars! hehe [This message was edited Thu Nov 27 1:34:01 PST 2003 by Bootsinox]

No. I wouldn't be able to keep up with the hours, the travelling, being away from my wife etc. I wasn't cut out for that lifestyle.
hell, maybe I'd join, do a couple of gigs and then quit. That would be fun.

-> Slave and Vina
I agree with Hectim, the guy is TRULY OBSESSED (not Hectim, but Prince)...I get really miffed if I miss a meal in the day. Besides that, I don't have enough years left in my life to get good enough for the guy, whatever era I went for. BUT, But give me something to shake, and I'd gladly be Prince's BEZ! ..... BULLSEYE!

Sure, I'd never turn down the musicial experience. I don't really enjoy the gigs I do now, but I try to get out and play. Live playing is something to be treasured. You know there would be great crowds at his events and I love to play in front of crowds. I wouldn't stay long but I would do it.

I was gonna post this as a seperate topic...but it kind of belongs in this one...it might have been addressed before but... Have any of you guys ever thought of seriously starting a band... just get together in some location in the middle and hook it up? I think that would be really awesome. I volunteer for vocals and keyboard
