Could somebody please explain to me what the musical term 'Chops' stands for? I hear it mentioned alot when people discuss jazz.

In classic jazz, technique is very important, and technique comes with experience (practice, skill, knowledge of jazz, etc) and is often a "gift" as well. I think this is what they mean.

Chops is another word for talent or good ability.

Chops - Skills, Clams, Sherpas, take your pick.

Which is better pork chops or lamb chops? :+)
