MAN. That is some very interesting stuff. Sounds like a Dadaesque version - like Bauhaus doing it or something. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Wow.
It's cool and Halloween at the same time. Whatever, cool key and when you kick into the passionate part, I'm feeling you and that's all that matters in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for listening. I kind of let loose at the end. I knew I would never sound like Prince, nor did I really want to. Fortunately, all my neighbors were at work that day (I recorded it in my apt.). It's kind of wierd, the recording process. I was singing at the top of my lungs with barely any music being heard. I had to keep it low so as to not get it recorded with the vox. Once again, thanks for listening.

I liked very much the way you singed the last part of the song, it sounds like you were feeling the song, and not trying to emulate prince

nice track dude but I'd watch it with mp3.com. Their terms of service says you cant upload any songs that you dont own the rights to.
Just a warning | |

Just a warning Ya, but i think that means he can't upload the track that prince made. he did a cover and as long as he's not getting paid for it, its alright. But i believe that many ppl there do get paid when ppl listen or something so ya, he better watch it.

I bought a copy just to have something that looked real (instead of CD-R's)...

I picture the psycho guy from the classic 80's original (and best) Manhunter movie, with mic in hand, singing this to the blind babe while she's stroking the tiger.
A great ironic twist on things and scary stuff indeed, but that's just the picture I get in my own obscure mind. If this is the ambience you were after then I think it's a great job - somehow a perverse alternative to the original feel (imo). The only thing that's changeable to me is the clarity of lyrics - someone who aint dug Beautiful Ones before isn't gonna understand anything in parts. I just noticed that it's catergorised under 'Pop and Rock Cover Songs' so I guess MP3.com cover that (unless you need permission). That is my exact recording situation! I'm still workin out my issues with that. GREAT job on the second half of the song. WOW. At first I was like... But when you kicked it in it was like... What a killer version.

That is my exact recording situation! I'm still workin out my issues with that. Why not use a headphone??? Its not that. I do use headphones. It's not having my own space to record in. I know I shouldn't care but I don't want anyone in the room that is going to judge whatever I'm working on. There are very few people you can trust with that. People who don't write music don't have the ability to hear potential in the begining stages of a song. It's worrying what people (walking by outside/nextdoor) are gonna think about just hearing my voice and not know why I'm singing that loud. Are they listening? Are they laughing? Imagine hearing me sing My Groove and not hearing the music. Ok, YOU would like it, but most people would probably think I'm working a phone sex line!
