Thanks Carl Sagan. My initial question, though, was DID HE PLAY any instruments, NOT did he contribute to funk. DID HE PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS.

hectim	So does singing lead on lots and lots of Parliament-Funkadelic tracks count as an instrument? It's a bit like saying what did Otis Redding do?
