What does a person do if they live in an apartment... and want to learn to play the drums?
Are there drums that can be played with headphones or somthing like that? ~~~~~~~~~~~

If ya wanna play the real things, yer gonna have to rent a space. If you're a college student or live near a campus, you might look around the music department bulletin boards for folks who rent out rehearsal spaces...sometimes you can catch a fairly decent deal...and of course, if you can strike a deal with friends/family for some prized garage space, then there ya go.

I was gonna do this but I couldn't see spending that kind of ca$h on something that in the end, sounds digital. The rubber over the heads will just never due (especially on the cymbals) I'm in the process of buying a real drumset and I'm going to feel out (with the neighbors) how loud I can play and when is the best time. additional thoughts - edit [This message was edited Fri Nov 7 16:33:47 PST 2003 by Slave2daGroove]

I use a cheap nasty electric kit. Its only about £100 & plays like a brick but I use the full kit for live stuff. My neibours would never put up with me drumming in my room

Depending where you live, and how financially realistic it is: you should rent a rehersal space. Most major cities with a music scene have them. Its good place to meet other musicians too. About 2 months ago my bass player and i were walking to the vending machine and we saw a fairly good looking girl wandering the halls...it was Vanessa Carlton (that Piano girl). She dates Stephen Jenkins from Third Eye Blind & he has a space there. I'm also next door to that bad band AFI. Rancid, the COupe...alot of people are there.
But anyway: yeah, most people will share one with you-especially if you just want to jam a couple times a week. Nero
