THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG

“The Hook/Chorus part just popped into my head while I was driving!” “I usually keep a pocket sized tape recorder with me so I can capture ideas,‘cause I never know when inspiration is gonna hit.”

“Musical ideas for this song came at some of the craziest times. A few of the coolest vocal melody parts actually came to me while I was shopping. It felt pretty funny walking around listening to my recorder and recording vocal parts, while walking up and down the isles at Longs!”

“For the lead guitar parts I used a really cool effect Pedal called the “Voodoo Vibe,” by Roger Mayer, which gave my lead guitar solo that “swirling” effect.” (Roger Mayer worked on Jimi Hendrix’s effects pedals.)

“I’m also planning to use the VV Pedal for the Rhodes (or Wurlitzer,) electric piano part I’m going to record for the song, which will give the keyboard parts a real dreamy sound.” Marzuki. -

HI MARZUKI,as usual u put together a smooth,melodic,jam.U have a great old school texture on this one.I see u are in2 chord changes like me.Keep the funk alive and keep on coming with the hits...peace

Thanks! I really appreciate all the support you've sent my way! Yes, I am into chord changes too, it's fun exploring the possibilites. I hope all is well with you and your music.

Being a guitar player my ear wants the guitar up front (opposed to where it's at now) but what a cool vibe you have. I love the harmonies and the production quality.

How are you recording?

Thanks for the feedback! The final mix will have the lead guitar louder! To be honest the mix was for a drummer that I'm thinking of recording on the song, so I didn't have the solo as loud as I normally would. I ended up liking the sound of the mix enough to put the clip up anyway.

The set up I used for this track consists of a Metric Halo Mobile I/O ULN-2 Firewire Pre/Converter, Ibook, Logic, Pro Tools LE, Oxygen 8 Controller, TC Gold Channel Pre/ Converter, Shure KSM 32 Mic, a Mesa Tri-Axis Guitar Pre-amp, Marshall SE100 Speaker Emulator, Countryman DIs, Boss Delay/Reverb Pedal and Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe Pedals.

I just finished recording a Wurlitzer through an original Mutron III and another piano part played on a Rhodes. I may do some work on the drums with my Roland Electronic Kit and MPC 2000 next, before I finish it up.
