Yeah I've had a guest round for a week so I've had to entertain...as in NOT do anything self-indulgent like do music stuff (or surf the org!...well, not too much anyway)

hahaha! Jem, you know, you are totally, and utterly, bananas. I like it when the chipmonk rap comes in...CindyC? heheheh...yeah, bananas! I dunno if it's because I haven't set up my speakers properly, but I reckon the song would be much more cool if the drum beats were just that much louder...they are nice beats but they seem to get lost in the mix. Nice sound effects. The lyrics are great mate, and your voice isn't 'too' bad on this one (slowly getting there I reckon...no diss'!)...I really like the lyrical melodies you've come up with recently including this one. but someone else can give you some tips as far as that's concerned though...
nice one Jem.

It's cool and crazy but I kept waiting for the Steve Vai guitar solo that never came. Trying new stuff huh? Cool, keep it coming.

I love the Wikki, Wikki reference but I didn't think you were old enough to remember that old song. shrug

Yo slave2dagroove, i don't think i know what u mean by Wikki Wikki reference, i've got so much shit in my head that maybe i do know and ya your right, but who knows. be more specific by what u mean.
I tried doing a little research and i think theres a song called "wikki wikki" by a group called Newcleus, is that what u meant?

But in music, nothing is really old, right? smile

Yeah, I think that was the obscure 19 eightysomething reference. It sounded like you actually said "wicki, wicki" but then again, maybe it was that voice with my mind. At least it wasn't that phone ringing again...

It's a groovy loop zilla groove. Very experimental I like it.

The biggest weakness I feel is the microphone. It doesn't have a very wide range, and the p's are popping - (too close to the mic/no windscreen?). Everything else is so crystal clear and the vocals are coming through a spaghetti strainer, comparatively.

But the arrangement/production (addition of the little nuances) is brilliant. I really like the overall vibe to the song - reminds me of EBN-OZN ('a-e-i-o-u' and 'bag lady').

I like it.

Cool man! Dig the groove and the arrangement. Are these loops that you are programming or downloading?

For some reason I like the backup vocals more than the lead. They are all you, right? For some reason the tone of the backup sounds better.

The rap is killer. Is that you too? Then the piano/guitar part after that is awesome. Good shit. Cool screams.

Vina ur a doll smile

I sometimes make my own beats with my guitar keyboard which is hooked up to a E-mu module. but this song and strawberry flow was drum samples i got from some site.

ya everything else is me, the vocals and such, Yes the rap is me too lol i loved doing that rap. u can spend so much time fooling around with pitch shifters.

The guitar solos i do are almost always improv, thats how i roll. but i also love making rehersed stuff, but WTF.

That piano solo was originally just piano/strings, but i needed to fill up space so i added guitar, which i was happy with.

My back up vocals are always better than my leads, i don't know why.

There is a little falsetto on the "young and beautiful" part.

but i tried keeping it simple, and my felsetto isn't that great anyways.

Oh well. cheers.

I really love the way you play. Totally my style.

Maybe because you are more relaxed or less self-conscious? Maybe try recording a second lead vocal, sing along and just have fun, have some attitude... then mute the first lead and see what happens!

Yeah, I heard that and it sounded good!
