Should I trade my Boss Distortion in for one or not?

Well hectim, why don't you trade some other stuff you have lying around for it?

I read Prince uses the Turbo. But I got the non-turbo DS-1. Since then I've always been wondering if I made the right decision. So now I have them both. Plus a heap of other stomp boxes. I think someone in the Boss coropration should be able to afford an early retirement thanks to me by now.

Yo, I care.

Talking about effects is like talking about how good something tastes. I have no idea what that effect sounds like.

Post a sample so I can hear.

I ain't a fan of too much distortion - it just muddies up my awesome playing. I'm way too good to mask it behind lots and lots of distortion. Way too good.

Damn I forgot to take my medicine today.

Slave - you got a Marshall - what are you doing looking at stomp boxes! Shame!!

Whoa there, no one said I was lookin for effects! I just wanted Hec to show off what he was feeling ignored about.

My effects are in Sonar now (except for the Wah, of course) other than that it's just the Marshall.

Hard rock and metal needs lots of distortion, or you'll end up being retro, you can BET THAT if the 70's were today, speaking of tech gear, led zeppelin, hendrix etc. would use a lot more distortion that they used on their time. high gain NEEDS skills too, just hear pantera, steve vai, the guys uses lots of dynamics and tecniques on their playing. Their attack rules.

I gotcha. My bad. And to anyone that says so - I was being a smartass. I am FAR from awesome.

Ok, I need some free homepage thingy to post a sample, one that'll allow me to put up mp3 files and preferrably one that won't have y'all shutting pop-up windows till way after bedtime. Any suggestions?

You can use Angelfire.com ..I think they have a 25 or 35 meg max, but the upload file size is unrestricted. If you post the direct link to your mp3 then there's no need for even going to the site...just right click and save as!

Thanx! I did just that and here's the mp3's:

DS-2 (turbo Distortion) Lead:
http://www.angelfire.com/...2_lead.mp3

DS-2 Rhythm (turbo Distortion) :
http://www.angelfire.com/...crunch.mp3

An older track using the DS-1 Distortion:
DS-1:
http://www.angelfire.com/...c/MPLS.mp3

Sometimes the links don't work, just try a couple of times...

Cool tone. Thanks for showing us. Love the MPLS song too.
The title of the thread, trade it. I love the tones for funk (or maybe it's that octive pedal).
