Prince's accoustic sets

I'm listening to a cd of his accoustic set during the Xenophobia week. Of course, I'm loving it but I am a bit underwhelmed by his accoustic guitar playing. Listening to his version of 'forever in my life' in the sOTT movie made me always think he would be a very exciting accoutic player. ALso, that pre For You song, 'do you wanna ride' had some real aggresive playing. Am I the only one who is thinking this or what?

Yep, I agree. I seriously think you're the only one who feels that way "Ronny". The "acoustic set" from Xenophobia is just one of those things where I can honestly say "you had to be there" to understand.

Besides, you really can't compare studio acoustic work with "live" acoustic work... especially if that is not something that the artist does all time.

So, I'll say it again "you just had to be there". If you weren't, then no CD (bootleg at that) will ever adequately capture the overall feeling and vibe of being there and caught up in the moment. Sorry you missed it and can't relate.

OK... I understand. I guess you really can't go crazy when you're trying to sing your songs. The songs were the focus not his playing. Got it. I wish I was there.
