And just who do you think YOU are?

I never slammed anyone.

I make no accusations.

I made a reasonably informed presumption that he appears to be an addictive type.

That is all.

I slammed pot. That is all.

And really, however you'd like to go into detail about what it does to your brain, the bottom line is, it's fine for a little while, but in the long run, it depletes you mentally; like any psychedelic, in the short term it may enhance some things, but in the long run it just dissolves the mind.

peace yourself.

Yeah sorry I was a bit harsh there. I'm just another guy who has his own oppinions. I just called it 'slamming' because that's how it would have felt to me back in the day. It's not a good confidence builder when someone criticises you for what you're already damn well aware of...as I'm sure you actually know. As for slamming pot, well, again that's you expressing your own oppinion, but based on your own individual experiences. You gotta remember that some of us are different, that's all. I know you have passionate feelings about this, but there's no need for fear-tactic lingo...phrases like "it depletes you mentally; like any psychedelic, in the short term it may enhance some things, but in the long run it just dissolves the mind" are full of misleading bullshit when you continue to assume everyone will experience the same (as you?). With these comments you won't just make one individual feel even more down, but you'll piss off others. And for the record, no I'm not obsessed with monkeys. The monkey is my favourite animal though. It rhymes with funky, and besides the name originates from the fact that a bunk of religious guys in a monastry used to fool around like gibbons while flying on ecstasy..erm, honest. So double peace back to you! Remember once you've been doubled, you can't peace back!

You won't want to hear this, but stop smoking pot, for good, first of all. It's obviously not working for you.

There are a billion reasons for this, but mainly, it is an addictive substance that will not help you in any way shape or form deal with your problems.

Thats bullshit!

Hey Lewis, I'm not sure what you are saying is bullshit but I'm guessing it's about it being an addictive substance.

Yes thats what I meant, theres not actually any physical proof that its addictive or any of the other scare monger things that people say about it. I base my opinions on fact and scientific evidence. Also I didnt think it was an appropriate thing to say to some poor dude thats lost their girlfriend.

Now let's have some consideration and respect for Geoffrey and his situation. This thread is about Geoffrey reaching out to us, his friends in the musician's forum. Mrdespues, I respect your studies and understand that you mean well and feel passionately about marijuana... But Geoffrey didnt' say "Hey, guys, I need help with my marijuana addiction." Well, that's not all he said.

Anyway, I am asking everyone to please start a new thread if you want to keep debating about marijuana. I dunno, maybe I'm being too sensitive, but this situation is more than just about a possible marijuana addiction.

Think about it. He puts his whole story about finding love, starting a family, buying a house and now maybe loosing it all and he asks for advice. Then he's gonna come back, check this thread for responses and he's gonna find people bickering back and forth about weather or not marijuana is addictive.

Well, that's the wonderful Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran! The man that inspired me to make music with a synthesizer. He's a sexy, creative keyboard player from Europe (England), just like our friend Geoffrey who is from the Netherlands. Ooooh LORDY, do I have a thing for sexy European keyboard players... They make me CRAZY!

lick music drool horny

I just bought my tickets to see them on November 30th in a small club that only holds about 1,500 people! It's all 5 original members too! They haven't been together since 1985!!! Nick has been in the group all along, as well as Simon the singer. They were my two favorites anyway, so I didn't feel like anything was missing from Duran Duran. But now that they are all back, there is this synergy between the 5 of them. It's like magic. I got my tickets yesterday so I changed my avatar, cuz I'm sooo EXCITED!!!

ok let me try to calm down now...

VINA! Tell Andy to put out more records. That one solo record rawked. Duran Duran PALED with him gone, in my opinion. But I play guitar, you play keys, so sure, I see how you wouldn't miss him.

Yes. For what it's worth I feel pretty bad now for replying to the Bullshit comment without thinking about the thread in general and Funkaholic's need for support.

Hello everyone,

I would like to say to mrdespues and others that have negative thoughts on the use of cannabis are in their way contributing to help me out of my "situation". So don't worry about threadjacking anyone!

Personally I think the daily use of cannabis for over 14 years hasn't really brought me much good, apart from the nice feeling of stonedness and the way it has suppressed my feelings. In the end I am addicted to it, to feel comfortable and to forget about my personal problems.

I have quit smoking cannabis since last sunday and I hope I will never smoke any cannabis in my life anymore. I feel I could have achieved much more in life if I had not started smoking marihuana. It has made me even more lazy than I already am from myself. And it has disconnected me from other people, because when I am stoned I am too hazy to talk to people that are not stoned, I feel embarrassed about myself with people that are not stoned. So I ended up with having only pot smoking friends, most of them lead as empty lives as I have led myself. I am through with that!!!

By the way, I have written a letter to Yvonne where I gave her my comments on what happened and she was really pleased with it. She confessed that she has been too harsh on me and she asked me to forgive her for some of the things she did and said. She realises now that she too still has a long way to go. And she realises that it's not very smart to jump immediately into another relation. We both feel a little more balanced now about the situation and we have planned to make a good arrangement about our lovely daughter, we both want the best for her. I feel much better now than last sunday and I feel confident about getting out of this situation much stronger. I don't think Yvonne and I will get together again, but I am pretty sure that from now on we will handle this situation in a grown up way.

Thanks again for your support and kind words!

Geoffrey

Geoffrey, I am so happy that you are now going in the right direction. I didn't know you had been smoking for that long! I'm so naive. We are the same age, yet I've only started smoking about 2 years ago, and not every day... Anyway, sounds like you are doing great! Good luck and be strong! You are going to be discovering a lot about yourself and that can be scary, but in the end you will be the so much better than you could ever imagine!

How exactly does my neutral comment indicate that Im on the pro weed train?? I didnt think it was appropriate to bring it up in the first place, Funk needed advice not a lecture & I was not the only one who commented on that

Leave it!
