London orgers: What are the best Jazz clubs?

Im an aussie who has just arrived in the UK for a year. I'm a trumpet player and was wondering where the best Jazz clubs are and also are there any clubs that let you get up and jam along? Thanks

The Jazz Cafe is the best these days for acts. It's in Camden and they have an open jam session Sunday lunchtimes... Other jazz clubs that I used to go to are the Jazz Live at the Crypt (Camberwell), Jazz After Dark (Greek Street in Soho), 100 Club (Oxford Street) and (rarely) Ronnie Scott's in Soho...dunno if these places have jam sessions though, but check out the websites!

606 club on Lots road in fulham/chelsea area is really nice for intimate gigs. I highly recommend it

I used to be the drummer in the house band on the Wednesday night Jazz Jam at the Paradise Bar in South London.

be warned, they are very 'clique'-like down there, but when the nights are good, they are real good!

Orgnote me.

PLUS, if it's more than Jazz U're after, there is a Tuesday night Jam at a place called "The Spice Of Life" off Charing Cross Road.

It's on tonight as I write this, I will probably show up.

once again, ORGnote me.
