Ok...everybody on yo feet! Let's Dance!

Hey everyone!

Check out this new dance song. It's called "Human Nature". As always, I'm anxious to hear what you've got to say.

I LIKE this song.

1. LOSE the reverb from 1974. It's WAY too much on your voice, and when combined with the chord progression, I keep expecting to hear you whip in to "Hooow Looong, has this been GOIN ON!". Don't be afraid of stripping your voice down. You can go without the reverb. I promise. OR, just pick a much smaller reverb room.

2. (and I say this to everyone, so feel free to tell me to shut up) You sound like you're afraid that somebody will actually HEAR you singing... you're holding back WAY too hard... I can hear the nervousness in your singing, which is odd because you have a pretty decent voice. Do an experiment - blow it out - sing full throttle on a take. Go back and listen to it, and then go back and re sing it a third time somewhere in between what you've currently got and the loud screaming thing. Your voice reminds me of the guy from New Order - but even he gets a little energy up in there sometimes.

3. Dynamics. Dynamics. Dynamics. Drop the bass for a few beats. Or the snare. Or the keys. Or something so it's not a constant wash of sweet babymaking groove... MY suggestion would be to drop the snare and the bass right before "It's human Nature", which would sonically cue the listener "HEY! THIS shit is important right here"

So there you go. Do those things, and you will have a hit, and you will make millions and you will owe me $3.5 million dollars.

I gotta lay off the coffee man. I'm hurting myself.

I agree with Otan.

I like the song but the music needs some variation, stop the beat, start the beat, it's quite catchy overall.

Otan & Slave2daGroove,

Thanks for all your helpful advice. I agree with your assessments. I'm gonna be going into the studio again soon to redo alot of what your talkin' about.

Very good suggestions though. Thanks. I hope everyone else lets me know what they think as well.

Thanks again.

I think the song is tight. I like those drowned cowbells in it, but they need 2 b in order jjuuus a lil bit. Bt the song is funky. U and JD (Flashpointe) hav kinda the same sound equipment.

Why are you going into the studio in this day and age? You could produce something like that on your own with no problem.

Otan,

I've got all the equipment at my house except to properly do the vocals. I'm savin' up tho. Shouldn't be too far into the future.

But I agree with you man!

Oktava MK319: $100 at guitar center. That and a bathroom and you're in bidness.
