Has the org musician forum changed the way you write?? I must say that my writing has changed so much since we've had our own forum. You guy's constructive critisism has improved my sound so much & now, when Im writing a new tune, I cant help thinking stuff like 'I wonder what otan will think of the bass line, maybe vina can add some kick ass vocals & what will Jason think to the message'.
Just a little thankyou thread to ya'll for being such good listeners but I also wanna see how our community has affected your own music??? God bless Lewis

Sure. My music style has been more streamlined as a result of taking some of Beau's advice on sounds and production, Vina's advice about appealing more to a group, and all of your advice about being a little more understanding of everyone and their individual problems. Kelly (Yamomma) has especially taught me lots about being more patient.

Well, yes! I have benefited so much from sharing my music here and getting feedback. Mainly with my singing. I am eternally grateful to the many groovy people that have told me, "I can hear a stronger voice, just dying to come out." And I'm gonna keep on workin on that. Recording tips are always great. Up until last year I was all midi and now I'm venturing more and more into digital audio and mixing. I love this place and the people. The inspiration alone is worth it. I love hearing new tunes by my groovy friends. It's my home away from home. Big thanks to Ben for agreeing to give us this forum way back when. I'm sure Jason and Lewis remember the days when people would get pissed about us talking about our music on other forums. A little blast from the past: http://www.prince.org/msg...msg_230377 [This message was edited Fri Sep 19 16:15:57 PDT 2003 by VinaBlue]

Some people just dont realise what goes into music & how a musician feels when its not appreciated. We've come a long way since then, it aint just you, jason & me anymore. We got the combined effort of most of the internet bound musicians inspired by prince otherwise known as the New Funk Order

Not everyone is going to like our music, I understand that. But I can't believe people get sooo upset that we want to hip them to some cool new music. It happens everywhere, people call it spam when you go to a message board dedicated to an artist that you like and you say hey, if you like them you might like me. What's the big deal? It's awesome to get feedback from other musicians, but we need feedback from music fans as well.

There is many people that are very stubborn regarding someone asking them to check out your music or project. In fact, a fellow orger named Luvy was a cool dude once, until I sent him an e-mail asking him to join the NFO. He replied back telling me not to send him anymore e-mails about the organization. And to think that I had his banner on my site once. See if I ever do him a favor again. Anyhow, you are so right, L. People can be ridiculous. Peace, JD
