First song sounds like Rush on weed.
The odd time signatures - or just plain insane drumming - can't tell which - make the songs hard to groove to. So, as far as FUNKY goes, it ain't hitting me too well... but the sound quality is excellent, and the composition is very complex... I'd faint on the stage from being too confused to know when to play. Not saying it's bad. Saying I get so lost in this kind of stuff, I get frustrated. I always sum this stuff up as saying "it sounds like music students trying to prove that they know how to write time changes into a song" Which, you know, if you're into that stuff, I'm sure it's awesome. The first song just seems to wander around a shoe store, trying on different shoes left and right without ever committing to any one pair... so, without a solid hook, the song seems rudderless in a lake. (THAT'S RIGHT! FROM SHOES TO A BOAT IN A LAKE! Take that cake and ride it into town!) Man I need sleep. It's some cool stuff - VERY 1992 Alternative College Radio... just not hitting me too solidly. Thanks man! Workin on finishing the cd for now and I don't have a band of any kind. When I do, I'd like to tour and it would include the midwest because my boyfriend's family is in IL. Groovy. | |

hey, otan. Thanks for the constructive. That's cool. Yeah, some of the stuff gets kinda complicated that we do. I wish you could hear our Rock Operas. They are more laid back on some funk. Smoothe bass lines, funky ass wurlitzer piano, saxaphone and heavily effected trippy sounding guitar. Don't give up on us yet. If you live in any of these areas, come see us live.
