RECORDING DIGITAL AUDIO

Hi peeps,I need some advice on recording digital audio. I am using Cakewalk Sonar2.2XL and a Toshiba laptop with a mini mic plug input. Everytime I speak into the mic there is a millisecond delay thing going on.I can't get in sync with the music. Any suggestions? All replys please orgnote your response to me directly. Thanks crash

Sing without playback of your vocals via the speakers, just sing to the music while recording the vocals. When you are done recording and go listening to what you recorded, turn up the volume of your vocals in the mix and voila!

If your vocals are recorede behind the tempo, you can always cut the vocals and past them on the right spot.

You really do need to be able to hear yourself when you are recording vocals. You probably need a mixer so you can hear both and turn the vocal up without affecting the level that you are recording at.

It really doesn't work to well to cut and paste vocals if they aren't in the right place. You really have to hear yourself and the music to feel it and give a good performance.

SWANG

Try clicking Options-Audio and adjusting your latency (moving the bar all the way or close to the left if not already there)

If it doesn't work, orgnote me. I may be able to give you some more clues...
