I listened to your cuts, I was very impressed with your sound. I would definatly buy your CD. I like the different influences I hear in your music. you are indeed very creative. One suggestion, however, take yourself off of the covers and let the music speak for itself. It would be much more beneficial if you created mystery around such great music. I hear people speak of how neccesary it is to plaster themselves on the cover. Nothing can be further from the truth. Artist simply do this because they have to fill their own egos, or they dont have enough faith in their music, or they simply know their music is not good. You have good music, no need for the extras.

B,
You know, I can definetly respect that. Really appreciate all of the input. That was so needed.

Do you think it would be wiser to keep the first picture up and perhaps make it smaller? Or would you do away with all photos??

Yeah, I'll admit it. =c) I like taking tons of pictures. Maybe even plastered too much, as stated. **possible ego, like you said.** (lol) I listen to good instructions when given.

Thank you so much.

Mad love goes out to ya's!

I dont think you have to do away with all the pictures, just maybe for the CD cover, no photo. Remeber when Prince relased 1999, he was in the inner sleeve, but the album itself was sooo good, the tracks were slammin so hard, they didnt put his face on it intentioanlly because people were caught up in his "style". You know, a black dude singing rock, or a bi racial guy singing R & B. His music spoke for itself and as we know the rest is history.

Oh and hey bro, we all have eog's, myself included, its all good. Your music is so good, you can have one. Like Michael Jordon on the basketball court, you can back it up. Much love to you and your music. shoot me an email when u relase your CD.

Bari - the songs sounded fantastic. Your site is totally underselling your potential, in my opinion. The first thing I see is the LOOK of the site, and my immediate reaction was "oh hell, another guy with a 1986 casio keyboard and a radio shack microphone" - but as soon as I played the first cut, I was VERY impressed.

So I would say, try to put together a slicker site - it doesn't have to be npgonline.com, but it should at least be a lot cleaner. Your music is a ROCK SOLID product, you should make the image the same thing (which, I know, is contrary to a previous message on this thread).

My 2 cents. - and HEY - I live in Atlanta! When are you playing out? I play all the time - you should drop in and sing a tune or two.

Get outta here, beau. Yer in ATL too, eh? That's mad cool. Where ya playing?

You know... that was HUH-LAR-REE-US, dood!! I actually DID start out on a 1986 Casio, sans the mic. ((lol)) Thank you for being real. I can't hate that at all.

I appreciate the input. You're so right about the cheesy website. I'm definetly looking to upgrade. Perhaps I should have waited until I had it all together? I dunno.. just wanted to home for my "kids", where people could listen. It can definetly be better.

I should be gigging in the area later this month. Just getting the band together. Where can I find you??

Otan (beau), thanks for yer input, man. Please, stay connected. Love to catch yer show.

Mad love,

I was able to listen to one track and I dug it.

I actually like the idea of clicking on a picture to select which song you want to play... That's unique.

I agree - that's very cool - just need to be sure that it's obvious that THAT is how you get it done... I think it was pretty clear - each photo had a song title on it - but until I hovered over each photo and THEN it was sort of clear ("is this linked to lyrics? the song? more photos? ahh. the song").

I'm playing way the hell up in Alpharetta sat night at some wannabe cowboy bar called the One Star Ranch. It's an odd night - I've played there before. We bring in the funk, and all these cowboy hats and boots and 40lb beltbuckles are all shaking it to the funk.

An ODD sight at best, but dammit, spreading the funk is the mission. Did I mention I have a stalker now? She shows up at gigs all drooly-eyed and says stuff like "your wife is sooo lucky" and I'm thinking, "lucky HELL! she rarely sees me, she keeps the boys while I'm out playing music, she let's me sleep late so I'm not a zombie, and she has to watch my head bob to the funk in my head - even when there ain't no music playing - my wife married Rain MAN!"

Love her. She's the best. But i doubt she'd say "LUCKY" if you asked her.

Edit: OH - and I'm working on a complete overhaul on my site - so yeah, the old one is deader'n'a muffucker.

This is great material and shows how U are capable of travelling around the musical gamut.

I like that non-quantizing drum thing U got going on "True"... kinda got that Slum Village vibe but with the vocals of a mature Marques Houston.

I'm admiring your versatility, what I'm hearing is BariTaylor, not any1 else. I respect artists who are able to discover their own identity and stick with it.

U have definitely accomplished this.

U lived in europe? were U ever in South London, UK? I assume so as U said U tried tha whole UK Garage vibe too.

I'd love 2 do a remix or even a collaboration on one of your tracks... if U're interested, until then, all I can say is keep going man U appear 2 be quite candid.

props.
