The State of the Funk Address!

This is new and updated, much funkier, more arrangement, short, sweet, and to the point.

You know I don't give up nothin' but the P, BAYBEE!

That's cool, it's just the message from the President. Any of y'all can submit your ideas. I want as many funky commercials as possible.

I created the New Funk Order initially for funk only, so my influence will always be Prince, P-Funk, and James Brown related. But, I welcome any type of music, as you can see from Project 1. The "New Funk" genre has a very broad spectrum, so it is all good.

I wanna keep the NFO as loose as possible. I don't want any barriers on creativity- period. I know everyone agrees there. Many corporations have so many rules and regulations. I started the project with the intention on fighting the system as it is and creating this project is doing just that. We are doing our own thing, and hopefully, when more artists join up, we can keep more artists free from companies.

ThanQ for the feedback, Cam!

Your friend,
Jason

getting better smile
I might even cut it off at "These suckers will dance".
Anything after that is just joy in repetition.

Looks like I must bow out for a few weeks. Got some funk to play in my own world and must sort out my home for sale, find a new home, relocate my business etc. etc. So if I don't respond, doesn't mean I ain't interested...just got too much in my bowl right now.

Hell, maybe on return...U might even have a full fledged web site wink

Til then,

I always thought of it as the "NEW"- funk- order, not the "OFO" My point was to have alot of samps from several trax off the NFO with a message over it, maybe.??

I know what you are saying. This is just one of many promos that I'm sure that people will submit. Since this is a message from the founder, it has to be funky and the point of the NFO has to be explained in a funky way.

I can't just make a speech in a regular monotone voice. It would be very, very boring.

Anyway, the "New Funk Order" title was originally intended as a pun and a rebuttal against the "New World Order" that political and corporate leaders are trying to bring about. Yes, the "New Funk" genre is included there, but the main genre in general is FUNK. Now, because of more people being interested, the project includes other artists who perform other kinds of music, which I assure you, probably contribute to the history of the "New Funk" genre. I am going to be working with Kelly to put together a history of funk and new funk, and a timeline of where we stand in relation to other artists before us.

So, naturally, we will have more FUNK related artists participating, and there are many styles of funk- the English Dance/Funk stuff, Southern Funk, P-Funk, Minneapolis Funk (New Funk), West Coast Funk, Ohio and Midwest Funk, and East Coast Funk, and there is Swedish Funk and Denmark Funk, South American Funk, and other people in the world who have different styles of the groove.

Peace,
JD

Exactly, funk comes in many colors! I will listen to the promo as soon as possible and will give you my feedback. You are the best, Jason!

I said nothing bout monotone,I was sure you would use the tone you always use.
Keep the address you got, just change the music to NFO samps. No need for many promos, just 1 good 1.

Your right, Cam, about the need to have a promo with NFO CD samples in it. I don't have sampling equipment, so someone else will have to do that job.

The State of the Funk address is simply a personal message from the President, not really even a "promo". Thanks for all the feedback.

Thanks, Big!

Peace,
JD

Aw Yeah, J! This is great! Love the new music. No need for samples of all the artists, that wouldn't hold together that well under the speech and distract from it. This music build up is GREAT! Perfect. I would even like a little more animation and craziness in it in the speech. You know I always thought a little more Bootsy Collins like phrasing would be cool, in the speech.

Anyway it's great to hear this now that I'm back from vacation.
