I have some Heston cds to distribute & would like for each member to take a few copies to local cd stores & help with the street promotion.
This would be like homework for the NFO project.It would also help when you come back with the NFO cds.
Please send me an orgnote if your down with helping the cause.I can instruct you on how to get it on consignment.

I brought this idea up last week. If ALL NFO members with independent CD's (aside from NFO) shipped ALL NFO members a 1/2 doz CD's for their respective cities...could be exposure and a lil pocket$

Say you represent "The Progressive Soul Movement" & over the next few months will bring them more product.
Try & get 3-$5 for each cd.Some owners will pay all of it upfront & some will do it on consignment.Then at the end of the month,go back and collect the $ and or product if they dont want it to stay.Most places give you a month.

I dont think the local CD stores here would accepta cd to sell if i hand them, i didnt understand.

Major wrecka stows are the ultimate, but Mom & Pop wrecka stows give better response. And it doesn't have to be a wrecka stow...your local clubs and...hair salons are good too. I always hear great new music at the hair salon.

So many local artists put cds in the local record stores for free, I'm not sure how I'm going to get them to sell them on consignment. I'd like to help but I'd hate to waste all of our time (and postage)

I guess if your local store doesn't show support for their local artists...U can always offer them an incentive. Maybe a free CD or percentage of sales. I mean, right now it's not really about the $ is it? Exposure.

I've left free CDs, and I've left CDs for sale on consignment. I set the price and when/if they ever sell, they'll send me a postcard telling me to come get my money.

Yes Sometimes you gotta eat some money, I have spent alot out of pocket for artists on their behalf.Because I belive in their music/cause.
I would rather just give the stores who dont want to pay anything, a free cd just so they can hear what their missing

Yes, and this has been discussed before Groovement, but I believe the original idea was to present a comprehensive package to press (radio) once the NFO web site was up. But... it's been dragging for months. Yes yes, everybody has another life aside from the org...but SOMEBODY really needs to take this web site project in hand and get the funkin' thing up.

Yes, my point was this Heston EP will open more doors,so when (WE- NFO) distribute the NFO cds & solo projects, we will have hookups already. The Heston cds are ready for distribution now.This is the time to get streetteams in place & know whats around you.

So just so I have this right, you want me to buy cds and give them to places to get exposure for this independent artist? If I get any money from the consignment angle, then I send it to you? If I don't, then I bought 4 copies of this disc and have turned on my corner of the world.

Nonono slave...I don't think Groovement wants U to front any gooey for the CD's...I believe he just wants to distribute. Actually, any $ made should go to the distributor. Hessman needs as much exposure as NFO.

No Slave, I send the cds to you. You take cds to stores & say you need $3 for each cd.They then mark the cd up to their price. When its sold you/we get the $3.
Some stores will pay for all the cds upfront, some will let us sell them instores.
